Global Marketplace Operations is the voice of the marketplace to commercial teams, logistics focused on establishing global standards, products, & processes that will further optimize end-to-end operations and take Nike’s Supply Chain capabilities to the next level. We focus on end to end order management and allocation of products into the marketplace for customers and consumers. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Director who will craft a vision and implement tools for how the Global Marketplace Operations Product Management organization will most effectively deliver against our charter to bring optimal business value to life through technical products. As the Product Operations & Strategy Director you will champion where standardization of processes, tools, artifacts, and engagement models best serve Nike vs implementing process for process sake. You are a master of frameworks and modularity and know how to increase time to value through reuse.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON:

This role will be accountable for developing standard tools, processes, artifacts, and ways of working that support the following Product Management accountabilities and enable delivering on our strategic objectives:

  • Product Model Operations, Strategy and Vision (mature & drive the model)
  • Product Lifecycle Management Best Practices & adhearnace
  • Product Model Management Tools and process alignment (standards and training)

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in digital product management practices and be comfortable spanning conversations that range from business strategy to software engineering & design. You are a creator of bridges, continually pushing on how we can create simplicity while honoring the power of the matrix. As a leader, you are thoughtful, aspirational, and adept at motivating teams through ambiguous situations to successful outcomes. You can lead through complex technical challenges and tradeoffs and leverage data to support your point of view. You are grounded in customer insights – prioritizing reducing friction for our biggest internal operational problems and with our customer.

You are a great collaborator – you will proactively build positive relationships across the Nike organization to launch & manage products, including functional partners and geography teams. You are of a one-team mindset and welcome diversity of opinion and seek to understand as a starting point. WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

As the Director of Product Operations and Strategy, you’ll work 1:1 with each Product Director and their customers ensuring that the team’s ways of working are optimal and industry leading. You will support the Product Directors strategic roadmap development and storytelling. A master of breadth, you’ll be expected to work E2E across a range of Enterprise functions as well as industry partners, whether it be pinch hitting when strategic efforts require additional insights and resource power, coaching to help a Product team most effectively deliver against its objectives, or incorporating new industry capabilities into our daily practice. A servant leader, you work in the spirit of rising the broader tide and aren’t afraid to work alongside others to help lead by example.

With significant transformation ahead, you’re strategic problem solver, excellent communicator, superior collaborator, facilitator and storyteller with extensive stakeholder management skills and organization pace setter. You will often sit in at the senior leadership table to shape strategic opportunities. You are comfortable with continued ambiguity as the work will be diverse in nature and fast moving.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • BA/BS degree or any combination of education, training and experience in product management and or related business experience
  • MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant business experiences with a minimum of 6 years of demonstrated ability in product management or software development lifecycle management in support of omni-channel retail experiences, digital or CPG
  • Outstanding data and articulation skills
  • Outstanding written/oral, organizational, analytical abilities, and attention to detail
  • Inspirational and masterful storyteller and communicator who can deliver a vision and a path forward
  • Clear, concise and persuasive communication style that compels ideas and people to action
  • Influencing skills, with experience engaging diverse set of cross-functional and global partners
  • Ability to speak to technical constraints, data science, experimentation, product, brand, business and strategy — connecting across subject areas to foster stronger collaboration between teams
  • Ability to lead robust, cross-functional teams
  • Experience with OKR development and monitoring, agile ways of working and CICD
  • History of developing and growing product management talent
  • Ability to build product results such as wireframes, prototypes, key metrics, dashboards and requirements specifications
  • Experiene managing complex transformational programs – PMO/Portfolio management
  • Passion for the Nike brand, sports and for creating high-quality work
  • A fascination with innovation and technology and an expert understanding of digital tools and trends
  • Experience leading priorities with third party vendors and key partners. Comfortable making build versus buy recommendations based on industry knowledge
  • Ability to provide clear direction, set measurable goals and give insight on industry trends
  • History of making ambitious tradeoffs in establishing product priorities that have required sophisticated analyses and results-oriented decisions
  • Strong project management and prioritizations skills and ability to present work to executive leadership and partners
  • Comprehensive understanding of the market landscape, both through a technology and competitor lens
  • Keen sense of curiosity, high learning agility, intuition for business, comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change, leader with vision with a bias towards action and team focused
  • Experience with Confluence, Jira, smartsheets, Aha and other project/program/agile product collaboration and management tools, user centric design thinking methodologies
