Location: Seattle - Hybrid, 3 days a week in-house

Outdoor Research is seeking a talented and experienced Product & Content E-Commerce Merchandiser for the growing and fast-paced Direct to Consumer Sales Team.

Summary:

As the E-Commerce Product & Content Merchandiser, you play a vital role in achieving the team’s financial sales goals by bringing passion for delivering a best-in-class website experience and effective storytelling for Outdoor Research’s award-winning products. You will be responsible for optimizing seasonal category & product presentations that drive discoverability, promote product priorities, and creating storytelling opportunities that inspire and engage consumers. You will support a cohesive website experience that helps guide customers seamlessly through the purchase funnel resulting in product conversions. Primary job functions entail a unique blend of art and science with the ability to translate data into actionable insights while bringing our product stories to life through creative design and copywriting. A high degree of discipline and strong attention to detail, time management, and quality control are critical competencies for this position. The E-Commerce Merchandiser also requires a high level of flexibility, ability to multi-task, and strong communication skills within the fast-paced, ever-changing E-Commerce environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily maintenance and execution of website product listings, launches, category merchandising, content updates, and promotional events

Own the item attribution, categorization, seasonal presentations, and visual filter management to ensure ease of wayfinding that get customers to the right products at the right time

Coordinate product launches with product managers, marketing, and E-Commerce teams to bring new products onto the web by assisting with online photography needs and rich selling descriptions to support SEO and storytelling strategies

Develop & analyze merchandising reports to aid in on-going site merchandising disciplines and optimizations

Proactively identify areas of opportunity for new products, address content & product-related issues, and determine needs for on-site merchandising and content

Build content page templates and components to best support targeted customer behavior shopping patterns and seasonal/monthly product priorities

Collaborate closely with product managers, marketing, and E-Commerce teams in the Go-to-Market process to develop online product taxonomy and ensure key merchandising stories & hero products are captured for photography needs in marketing campaigns

Continually identify site merchandising opportunities to improve KPI’s as a significant contributor of the E-Commerce team

Partner with the Digital Marketing Manager & Email Specialist on setting the Editorial Calendar and influencing product priorities to support editorial plans

Execute website experiments through a third-party testing platform to continue to learn & iterate

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in E-Commerce, Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in managing and growing E-Commerce and/or Digital Marketing Sales
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for high-quality content
  • Experience using Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite with basic knowledge of content development; CMS Page-Builder skills are a plus
  • Extensive Knowledge with Excel, V-Lookups, and Importing/Exporting Data Files
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Power BI, and/or other customer behavior data optimization
  • Strong quantitative skills to analyze sales reports & campaign results and implement action plans
  • Exceptional project management and communication skills with the proven ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines with an attention to detail
  • Ability to demonstrate big picture thinking and knowledge of company initiatives, business priorities and cross-functional relationships that can be translated to customer-facing strategies
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, entrepreneurial, passionate, proactive, creative & team player
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and flexible to urgent issues
  • Desire to consistently learn and apply new technologies
  • Passion for the outdoors and Outdoor Research’s core sports is a plus
