Steel Storage Systems is located in Commerce City, Colorado in a suburb of Denver. We serve the Steel distribution and Metal working industries exclusively designing and manufacturing a wide array of heavy duty racking, conveying, and specialty equipment. We are looking for a qualified candidate to join our team for a long term opportunity as an Panel Designer and Builder.

Description

Applicants must be willing to relocate to the Denver Colorado area. This is a highly skilled Electrical/Mechanical role in which you will coordinate with Sales and Engineering, design electrical panels using AutoCad and build electrical panels. Additional duties will include in house start up and testing of products and troubleshooting mechanical issues with existing customers and their equipment. MUST BE ABLE TO PASS BACKGROUND CHECK AND DRUG TEST, HAVE DRIVER'S LICENSE.

Responsibilities include

Design, layout and build electrical control panels for conveyor equipment.

Assemble mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulically controlled equipment.

Possible off site work periodically.

Work with customers troubleshooting electrical issues.

Electrical panel building experience of 240v/480v 3 phase systems, 110v/24v control wiring, and variable frequency drives and PLC's.

Operate overhead cranes and forklifts as required.

Wear necessary PPE as required.

Perform preventative and required maintenance for manufacturing facility if required.

Job requirements

Read and understand blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders as required.

Must be computer literate and have Auto-CAD experience for designing electrical schematics..

Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Vision and hearing necessary to work safely around industrial equipment.

Lift minimum 75 lbs. moderately, 20-50 lbs. frequently.

Twist, stoop, bend frequently, climb ladders, crawl under equipment moderately.

Walk, stand, reach, work at shoulder level or overhead frequently.

Work in office, warehouse, and field environments.

Job Qualifications

Electrical engineering degree preferred. Electrical panel design experience. College courses in electrical design, PLC's. H.S. diploma.

Electrical and hydraulic training certificates or provable equivalent electrical control and hydraulic control experience in an industrial environment.

Solid ability to read schematics and mechanical drawings.

Minimum 8 years experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing manufacturing equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components.
