Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for aFashion Category Design & Style Coordinator or Creativeto join ourFashion Brand team in the London Office. We are looking for a confident and assertive individual, with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills as the you will be responsible for building strong relationships with our licensees. You will manage a team of one full time staff and 6 free lance designers and should be a proactive, professional and self-motivated individual and have a proven track record in similar role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, manage and update the design function workplan on an ongoing basis and communicating updates regularly to management,
  • Engage, brief and liaise with a team of up to 10 freelancers to deliver all design works in a timely manner, including the 2 seasonal styleguide deliveries and client briefs and pitches,
  • Train, coach and mentor the in-house Category Concept Designer, with a focus on development and succession planning,
  • Direct and coach all designers to understand and follow the category strategy,
  • Stay on top of market trends and competition, analyze and communicate new trends as they land using WGSN and other insight sources - focus on style, shapes and themes
  • Create and prepare market and brand relevant trends for our exclusive partners, prepare moodboards including shape and style direction
  • Monitor legal checks on imagery sources, design copyrights and editorial used in design works internally and externally with the legal team
  • Set up and maintain commercial cataloguing of the shared library of assets and update creative guidelines as necessary
  • Anything else that is required to effectively manage the role and support the team and partners, including ad-hoc design tasks and fixes, research projects and liaising with the other categories on specific company-wide projects.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary and bonus scheme up to 55 K per year based on experience

Profile

Profile & Experience:
  • Excellent organisation skills with ability to build and maintain critical paths and workflow plans,
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels to direct and coordinate all design works internally and externally, providing clarity and timescale, in order to meet deadlines,
  • Present with professionalism at all times to higher management and partners,
  • Commercial acumen with an acute sense of product concept and styling to create on-brand, cohesive ranges for each target and market as we present inspirational ranges in all styleguides to direct and influence our partners,
  • Preferred multi-disciplinary designer background with ability to design placement prints, patterns and branding elements for apparel and accessories, as well as produce convincing product mock-ups,
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is imperative, Photoshop and Microsoft Office pack also required
