Zahraa The Label is hiring a full time Fashion Designer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to continue growing as a designer. You will be responsible for designing within all categories from dresses, outerwear, tops, bottoms, knits sweaters, kids, baby and unisex apparel. You will be taking on a large role in the design process from creating print and embellishment layouts, collaborating with our tech team during fittings, communicating directly with our factories and helping to streamline the design/production process as well as helping to develop. Your role will also be responsible for owning trend, color and print for the brand.

What you'll do:

You will be responsible for research, scouting, forecasting, and conceptualizing, using the latest in raw materials, textiles, and product innovation. This highly interactive development position requires a broad understanding of materials & product expertise and the ability to align that knowledge with brand DNA. You must possess the capability to interpret and utilize a diverse landscape of innovative, dynamic, and high-quality materials to influence vision and build product that supports brand position and direction. Responsibilities include extensive research and scouting to stay abreast of product and material innovation for use in Zahraa The Label product lines. You will assist in creating tech packs, sketches, creating designs inside Adobe for apparel as well as designing our own prints, trend forecasting and be innovative in the designs whilst staying on brand. You will also be responsible for size fittings, sampling process, communicating with our factories and creating a fashion calendar.

What you'll have:

  • Degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years women’s design experience.
  • Experience in luxury designs is a plus.
  • Motivation - feel compelled to take action without requiring additional prompting from supervisors.
  • Solid organizational skills to manage both physical and digital spaces.
  • Ability to hand sketch ideas and concepts.
  • Strong design and conceptual skills.
  • Strong sense of style and color.
  • Thorough knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, color use, sewing techniques, graphics, and trim.
  • Understanding of merchandising as it relates to sales and store environment.
  • Advanced computer knowledge including Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with multiple team members.
  • Manage multiple tasks concurrently by balancing different seasons concurrently.
  • Goal oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
