Fashion Production Work Placement

JEL DIRECT is a busy outerwear fashion supplier, working with a variety of customers across the high street; such as Lipsy, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins Zalando, Select, Yours Clothings, Boohoo, About you. We are looking for a positive and driven intern to assist the production team. This role would be ideal for a graduate or someone currently studying design/technical design.

Our production department takes the whole process from the start to the end where the finish product is in the stores! We are seeking a passionate person that are looking for a challenging yet rewarding career in fashion. The Ideal candidate will have great attention to detail and a can do type of mentality. We work in a fast pace environment where flexibility, productiveness and good organisation is key.In return, we will share all the knowledge you will require so you'll have a excellent understanding of the industry and potentially earn a permanent position in our team at the end of the placement!

What you will be doing:

Assisting with account managing.

Photographing sample and filling images

Filling swatches/trims for each style

Dropping off samples/swatches to Clients Head Office

What you will learn / we will teach you:

Useful skills on how we identify customer's needs

Hands on experience of the entire process from the initial sample to the product in stores. 

Teamwork, how to get the task done as a team

How to communicate with offshore factories

How to communicate with demanding clients.

QC bulk goods and samples

Talking Technical images 

Cutting fabric packs for approval 

The Candidate:

-Must be organised & reliable. 

-Must poses a can do attitude and be prepared to get stuck in.

-Demonstrates a passion for outerwear and Dresses. 

-Photoshop skills Preferred.

-Excels in a fast paced environment.

-Must be a team player.
