Job description

An exciting opportunity for a food Supply Assistant Manager has arisen within our Harrods Team. The principle purpose of this role is to assist in leading and developing a high performing supply team delivering results through effective management of the OB product cycle within Harrods Food Halls, in order to minimise waste while maximising sales through availability across all channels.

Principal accountabilities

  • Availability Management - ensuring availability of product across all sites and channels to the agreed service level, working with suppliers, buyers and retail or kitchens stakeholders to manage availability issues and substitutions. Work with distribution to create efficiencies in stock management, inventory replenishment, aging stock and operations processes
  • Waste Management - driving availability to the required service level whilst managing the departmental waste budget through accurate forecasting and ordering and identification of waste reduction opportunities with suppliers.
  • Purchase Order Management- Create accurate and timely POs to suppliers based on forecasts and kitchens requirements, as well as customer special orders. Follow PO management routines to ensure that POs are delivered on time and in full, booked into the correct receiving location and suppliers have confirmed receipt where necessary.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting - Create article level forecasts that are shared with relevant stakeholders and drive ordering and stockholding levels. Forecasts will be managed and maintained across differing timeframes and could be for seasonal products and new product introductions. Work with the wider supply chain teams to forecast and actualise volumes arriving into depots based on POs raised and future forecasts in the system.

  • Must have supply chain experience ideally within a hospitality/retail background
  • Someone who can run with the current ways of working, but also develop new processes
  • Must be confident working with internal and external stakeholders (suppliers)
  • Be able to deliver on KPIs including those on waste management
