Adecco Creative and Marketing is searching for a freelance Footwear Designer for a circular and sustainable, upcoming brand! Do you want to be part of something exciting?
- 8-16 hours a week;
- Hybrid; on-site based on workload needs
- Long-term, no end date
- Must have 5+ years of solid footwear design and technical design experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend design meetings and proto correction sessions, to take notes of changes in the protos in order to update the technical sketches later as needed.
- Create technical specs on behalf of Design for technical accuracy and to achieve aesthetic intent.
- Create CADs for color options.
- Execute printing/artwork placement, engineered embellishment placement, details, etc.
- Maintain up-to-date all technical sketches through the development process: clean sketches in the right constructions, with the right upper proportions and the most updated hardware placement.
- Communicate sketch changes and share updated sketches with PD.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Experience in technical sketching by hand in accessories with a focus on footwear technical sketching.
- Understanding of the design & development processes from inception through sample making, including basic footwear constructions and engineering.
- Keen attention to detail, initiative, and organizational skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop; ability to CAD in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, fashion retail environment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and resourcefulness.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Keen eye for design, with an aesthetic sensibility in-line with the brand.
Education and Experience:
- Experience in technical sketching by hand with a focus on footwear and hardware technical sketching.
- Understanding of the design & development processes from inception through sample making, including basic footwear constructions and engineering.
