C2 client, a well-established, family-owned company with a mission to create stimulating retail consumer experiences through custom signage and décor programs for retailers and brands seeks a versatile and talented freelance production artist/designer to support their creative, design, and production efforts on an as-needed, part-time basis.

Start date: ASAP

Duration: contract role, approx. 20 hours per week for 4-6 weeks with potential for eventual full-time, direct hire

Location: Onsite* in their spacious headquarters in Elkhorn WI

* potential for hybrid arrangement after successful completion of initial projects, at the discretion of the Manager of Creative Services

Compensation: $23-$26/hour

Job Description:

This role combines production expertise with design creativity to ensure flawless execution of design concepts, maintaining our client's commitment to delivering high-quality retail imaging solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the creative team to develop design concepts, graphics, and visual content for retail signage and décor programs.
Modify and adapt existing design assets to meet the specific requirements of each project.
Ensure that all designs adhere to industry standards, quality, and brand guidelines.
Prepare print-ready files and assets, including file preflight, color correction, and image optimization.
Perform pre-press tasks to ensure accurate and high-quality printing.
Prepare mechanicals, layouts, and templates for large format printing and fabrication.
Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers to obtain necessary materials and services.
Assist in the quality control of printed materials and prototypes to ensure accuracy.
Work closely with project managers and clients to understand project objectives and deliver designs and production that meet client expectations.
Maintain open communication with the team and provide creative and technical solutions for design and production challenges.
Meet project deadlines and manage workload effectively.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a graphic designer and production artist, preferably in the retail or signage industry.
Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.
Familiarity with prepress processes, file preparation, and color management.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and take creative and technical initiative.
Flexibility to work on projects when needed, estimating 20-30 hours per week based on project demands.
Knowledge of print production techniques, materials, and large format printing is a plus.
A portfolio showcasing previous design and production work, demonstrating your creative and technical abilities.
