WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As the Merchandising Manager for Jordan Sport you will have a diverse set of responsibilities as a part of the Global Team that brings the product line to life in serving the Jordan Basketball consumer.

You will manage assortment strategies that enable segmentation and differentiation for a global offering. You will help strategize, build and lead global 3-year line plans and product journeys in partnership with our key partners to help the Jordan Brand inspire the next generation of Fearless Ones. In this role, the Manager will be responsible for 3-year line plan strategies across the Sport construct. The Global Product Footwear Merchandising Strategy would come to life through close partnership with our cross-functional partners in Product Creation, Brand, GEO Merch partners, and the Apparel Product Merchandising Team. You will gather insights from our Consumer Insights specialists and analyze current market dynamics to highlight key price points and identify consumer opportunities.

A consistent part of your day-to-day responsibilities will be in the management and maintainence of seasonal tools and assortments as well as long term strategic line planning. This includes the development and maintaining of key relationships among cross-functional teammates, ensuring alignment and collaboration at all key gates and dates. In addition, this involves analytical analysis supporting key areas of management for the business. Driving clear and concise communication to our geography and cross-functional partners will be a foundational requirement. In partnership with our Nike Direct counterparts, driving and carrying out consumer right priorities will be key to unlocking our future potential as a Brand. Encouraging key relationships with Geography counterparts, ensuring timely communication and tools empowering regional execution of assortment strategies, journeys, and product knowledge will be critical!

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

This role is a part of the Jordan Men’s Footwear Product Merchandising Team. As the Sport Manager, you will report directly to the Sr Director of Merchandising. It will be imperative that you foster strong relationships with your colleagues within your direct team as well as on the Women’s, Kids, and Apparel Teams in enabling the Brand to unleash its full offense.

On a daily basis you will be balancing your interactions with Product and Design colleagues on the creation side of the business, while simultaneously covering the business needs of the Global Marketplace and Geo Merchandising teams. Special Projects, Consumer Planning, Finance, and Sourcing will also be valuable partners for you in bringing the business science to life. The Sport silo brings to life several highly visible and influential products throughout the year. As a result, building and maintaining a productive relationship with the Brand Team will be key.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience and training
  • 4 years of proven and tested experience in Merchandising, Product Management, Marketplace, Buying or integrated retail related role
  • Ability to collaborate, demonstrate curiosity and decisiveness while balancing needs of the business
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including ability to motivate, lead, negotiate and influence
  • Demonstrate strong consumer and marketplace understanding
  • Strong business management including analytical aptitude, and retail acumen
  • Proficiency in key applications including Keynote, PowerPoint, Slack and Excel. MMX and AV, are a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time pending COVID updates
