Who we are looking for:

We are looking for an optimistic, curious, and authentic Merchant to join the Global Sport Performance Product Merchandising Footwear Team. You have an awareness and understanding of the consumer, global football and the constantly evolving marketplace dynamics, bringing a sense of teamwork and collaboration as core qualities. Additionally, a passion and dedication to help carry our merchandising strategies forward as we head into major global football moments - WC22 and WC23, to name two of many.

What you will work on:

As a Sport Performance Merchandising Manager, you will have a diverse set of responsibilities as part of the Global Team that brings the product line to life to serve our Global Football athletes.

You will help strategize, build, and lead global 3-year line plans and product journeys in partnership with our key partners to help Nike fuel and to inspire the next generation of consumers. In this role, the Manager will be in charge of 3 year line plan strategies which will deal with a range of products to serve our Global Football Athletes across all levels of the game. The Global Product Footwear Merchandising Strategy would come to life through the partnership with our cross-functional partners in product creation, marketplace, Brand, and GEO merch partners as well as gathering insights from our consumer Insights specialists and looking at current market share to highlight key price points and consumer opportunities.

To help deliver this, you would have experience in the function of merchandising and tenacity for a strategic long term vision centered around consumer trends and data analytics. You will be in charge of obsessing macro trends for the global football athlete complimented by the marketplace nuances across all of our geographies which will then inform future consumer needs thru the 3 year line plans.

A consistent part of your day-to-day responsibilities will be to continuously manage and maintain in seasonal tools and assortments as well as long term strategic line planning. This includes the development and maintaining of key relationships among cross-functional teammates, ensuring alignment and collaboration at all key gates and dates. In addition, this involves analytical analysis supporting key areas of management for the business. Driving clear and concise communication to our geography and cross-functional partners will be a foundational requirement. In partnership with our Nike Direct counterparts, driving and implementing consumer right priorities will be key to unlocking our future potential as a Brand. Encouraging key relationships with Geography counterparts, ensuring timely communication and tools empowering regional execution of assortment strategies, journeys, and product knowledge will be critical!

Who you will work with:

Global Footwear Product Sport Performance Merchandising Team. As Merchandising Manger, this person will report directly to the Sr. Director of Merchandising. Within the direct team, this person will work hand in hand with the Associate Merchant, cross-consumer merchants and cross-functional partners to develop the future. It is imperative that you cultivate positive relationships with your Merchandising teammates and other cross-functional teams. Additionally, this role will sit on the leadership team of the Global Football Men’s GM, the Sr. Merchandising Director for Mens Performance Footwear, and be a key partner in crafting and implementing the long term Global Football strategy for Nike, Inc.

With regularity, you will be balancing your interactions with Product creation while simultaneously covering the business needs of the Global Marketplace and Geo Merchandising teams. Demand and Supply planning also are valuable partners for you in bringing the business science to life.

What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing or combination of relevant education, experience, and training
  • 8+ years of experience in Merchandising, Product Management, Marketplace, Buying or integrated retail related role
  • Self directed, independent and dedicated
  • Ability to collaboratively manage multiple deadlines and seasons
  • Proven ability of art and science decision making
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including presentations to various cross-functional partners
  • Proficient information seeking skills and a drive for decisiveness and results
  • Ability to influence, empower, lead and negotiate across various functions
  • Demonstrate strong consumer and marketplace understanding
  • Strong business analytical aptitude, retail acumen, and attention to detail
