Under general supervision, the person is responsible for moderately complex layout, design, and production activities to produce quality graphic designs for both print and electronic media. The ideal candidate will edit images, format text, and utilize digital photography or stock images as necessary. They will manage graphic design aspects of each project according to assigned schedules, including management of proofing and approval cycles. They will take ownership of one's work and routinely identify opportunities to improve either the work product or the project process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creates and maintains graphic designs (e.g., art, color themes, photographs, web pages and/or videos) for the organization's online/digital productions consistent with established design standards.
  • Possesses an understanding of personal computer operation, print technologies, and digital marketing.
  • Proficient in major desktop publishing applications: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat plus Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ensures the quality and accuracy of all marketing materials by carefully reviewing their own work and adhering to the correct use of established brand standards, legal use of trademarks, and naming conventions.
  • Follows the internal processes for the creation, production, and approval of marketing projects.
  • Allocates one's own time efficiently and handles multiple demands and competing priorities.
  • Works cooperatively with others to be an integral member of a team and solves conflicting perspectives collaboratively.
  • Meets/exceeds the expectations and requirements of internal customers; talks and acts with customers in mind.
  • Complies with the overall brand strategy and management for the Wolters Kluwer brand.
  • Embraces and adheres to the principles of a "customer focused - market driven" organization.

REQUIRE EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ years of experience in digital and print design; collegiate experience is applicable
  • Mid- to proficient-level experience in major graphic arts applications: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat.
  • Mid- to proficient-level experience in MS word and PowerPoint.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Expert-level experience in major graphic arts applications: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat.
  • Expert-level experience in Microsoft Office: MS Word and PowerPoint.
  • Additional digital knowledge is a preferred.
  • Related market/industry experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be innovative, detail-oriented, and a problem-solver
