Head of Merchandising, Ambient Operations, Development & Delivery Management

By leveraging your commercial expertise and rigour in planning and forecasting within categories, you will ensure profitability over the long-term, maximise customer satisfaction and drive availability while optimising wastage and working capital.
You provide commercial rigour in forecasting, stock planning, supplier management and operational co-ordination to maximise returns over the short and long term and maximise profitability and customer satisfaction by driving availability, whilst optimising wastage and working capital.
You have accountability to roll up supply and demand plans through the Merchandising profession and budgets across your category to assure these are robust and deliver against strategy. As required, you will provide detailed merchandising expertise to Category Proposition Groups.
You will be accountable for the efficient and effective design and implementation of Merchandising systems/ process/ people transformation and CI (the role would play a key part in E2E, MO2, Better Together, Forecasting Changes..) delivery of the Implementation of Merchandise Operations (MO), minimising any potential disruption to our customers whilst realising commercial outcomes. You will deliver against the programme plans, identifying and escalating risks, issues and dependencies ensuring we land and embed the benefits.

Experience leading operational teams both in Waitrose Shops and Head Office, fulfilling Commercial and Customer KPIs, ensuring legal compliance and delivering high quality outputs.
Experience leading teams in a fast paced and challenging organisational environment balancing multiple differing priorities and demands.
Strong understanding of current and emerging legislative requirements within the retail trading law environment, experienced at implementing appropriate strategies to mitigate operational and reputational risks created by proposed and enacted legislative changes
Strong change management experience
