Our Schumacher Hospitality Team is seeking a Merchandiser to be based in our New York HQ.Your core focus areas and responsibilities will be:
Portfolio Development
- Partner with our hospitality, executive, and portfolio teams to develop and deliver hospitality collections each season
- Be entrepreneurial minded and competitively driven with the strategy to expand Schumacher Hospitality collections
- Develop and execute product strategies and identify opportunities to increase business with existing and new clients at varying price points
- Display forward-thinking, innovative approaches to driving sales – both near and long-term
- Teach and train Hospitality team on new products, print methods and technologies
- Tracking key metrics: memo output, sku performance, sampling costs, and production costs
- Partner with marketing and sales team to promote best Hospitality products within the Schumacher and Schumacher Hospitality portfolios
- Parter with web team to promote Hospitality products ensuring that all product information is correct and properly displayed on all sites
- Manage the creation and upload of hospitality skus on the website and internal platforms
- Ensure all proper certificates and documents for products are organized, accessible and up-to-date
- Manage Hospitality inventory across various printers
- Strategically review inventory levels and management of inventory
- Forecast inventory needs across all product categories
- Identify future growth opportunities within the portfolio
- Manage sample creation and monitor sample needs
- Ensure that our products are flawlessly executed and delivered on time
- Build upon existing vendor relationships and expand vendor database
- Work collaboratively with peers and across departments & functions to streamline vendor communication
- Manage vendor onboarding, assessments and negotiate terms and costing
- Unearth new vendors and business partnerships
- Work with cross-functional teams coordinating vendor and mill visits
- 3-7 years in textile and wallcovering sourcing and development
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment
- Strong collaborative, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Strong math and negotiation skills
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
- Highly proficient in Excel
- BA in a related field or equivalent life experience
- Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the luxury interior design industry
