Innovation Knit Designer–NIKE, Inc., Beaverton, OR. Create breakthrough design that advances human potential in sport & life, through elevated product experience and focusing on the art and science of materials; collaborate on how materials can be imagined on our products through the edges of performance and style for all athletes on and off the court; drive material innovation excellence through the connection of design, development and manufacturing and push the boundaries of design; meet the needs of the consumer on and off the court; elevate the consumer experience by creating materials that are performance and trend-relevant for a range of products, while driving an emotional connection to materials for the consumer through the use of narrative and storytelling; work on a range of knit designs for FlyKnit engineered uppers from crafting the future with new knit solutions for brand-new models with a focus on sustainability, performance, method of make and digital platforms to serving the business by supporting FlyKnit projects from conception to transition; create knit concepts and explore new Materials innovations and technologies and ideas; build inspiration/concept presentations, and mood boards for seasonal concepts and direction; and work and communicate directly with manufacturing partners to ensure the accuracy of intent and materials executions. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S., except from AK, AL, AR, DE, HI, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MT, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, RI, SD, VT, WV, and WY.
Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Textile, Knit Design, or Art and Design and the completion of a graduate-level/university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis or one (1) year of experience involving the following:
Knit Programming such as M1, and APEX Software;
Textile trends and Consumer Insights Research;
Creative Direction and Material Vision;
Advanced Yarn including aesthetic and performance;
Adobe Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign;
Application and Performance Material Design;
Product Design with material performance benefits for Athletes;
Technical Textiles Development;
Stoll and Shima Flat Bed Knit Machines; and
Miro and Keynote.
