Jordan Apparel Design Operations Manager
Become a Part of the NIKE, Inc. Team
NIKE, Inc. does more than outfit the world’s best athletes. It is a place to explore potential, obliterate boundaries and push out the edges of what can be. The company looks for people who can grow, think, dream and create. Its culture thrives by embracing diversity and rewarding imagination. The brand seeks achievers, leaders and visionaries. At NIKE, Inc. it’s about each person bringing skills and passion to a challenging and constantly evolving game.
Soul, performance and style take flight at Jordan Brand. With its deep roots in basketball, the Jordan Brand began as an homage to one player: Michael Jordan. Since then, Jordan has become synonymous with peak performance and an endless pursuit of greatness. Employees in merchandising, product branding, sports marketing and sales bring creativity, innovation and audacious design to footwear and apparel, all with one mission in mind: help athletes fly on and off the court.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Jordan Apparel Design Operations Manager will be the operational connective hub between various design functions along with apparel product partners. They’ll drive clarity and efficiency, evolve our end-to-end process, and manage calendars and competing priorities. Their operational thought leadership will foster a collaborative space and provide clarity between teams and roles, so all are enabled to meet shared goals.
The Jordan Apparel Design Operations Manager will also ensure we have the right tools and resources to enable an impactful design team. With multiple seasonal workstreams overlapping simultaneously, they are capable of focusing upstream on longer term planning while actively problem-solving tactical issues in the day-to-day.
This role is best suited for a self-starter with great organizational and communication skills, who is comfortable navigating ambiguity to build complex processes in a fast-paced environment. The dedication to develop trusted working relationships across teams and levels, to lead with confidence and conviction, and to respect and listen to the expertise and voices surrounding you to objectively drive conversations forward, will be critical to your success.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
This is a unique operations opportunity within Jordan, spanning our product offerings for Mens and Womens across performance and lifestyle apparel and accessories products.
You will manage seasonal design calendars; leading process creation and optimization for design-owned workstreams, while partnering closely with the product operations teams to deliver against product timelines.
On any given day, you will conduct workshops or meetings to gather insights and help define clear expectations, tools, and processes that drive creative collaboration across apparel, color, and graphic design teams.
You will connect directly with design teams to encourage creative collaboration, while ensuring designers have the right tools at the right time, and understand what designers need to work more efficiently and effectively.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will report directly to the Apparel Design Operations Director, and will partner with Design Operations teammates, Jordan Brand Design Directors, and Apparel Designers, as well as Product Operations partners, Development partners, Product Management partners, and the entire Global Jordan Design Studio.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor/Master's Degree in Marketing or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5-7 years of experience in Creative, Design, and/or Brand Marketing Operations
- An understanding of and/or operational experience with product creation, ideally within Jordan or Nike
- Passion for process excellence and simplification
- Consistent record of leading, planning, organizing, prioritizing and implementing simultaneous creative projects and activities across various teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others in a matrix environment and develop consensus within diverse groups and with people at all levels within the organization.
- The perspective to understand the role that Design Operations can play to fuel the design studio.
- Ability to problem solve and focus on both the big picture and the details.
- Proficiency in building collaborative calendars and processes, with experience in Miro, Asana and other project management software tools.
