Vivienne Westwood is looking for an enthusiastic E-commerce Customer Service Associate to join our expanding team. The role will involve liaising with customers and potential customers via live chat, telephone, and email to increase order values and assist customers with their queries. To strategically maximise sales and profit opportunities to drive performance within the business. As a Junior Buyer you will be responsible for managing your own lines and providing full support to your Buyer/Buying Manager. You will be managing and developing the AB/BAA to give full support to the Buyers/Buying Managers.


  • Supports Buyer/Buying Manager to plan schedule for buying, prepare for and manage presentations and shops feedback, prepare draft orders to be reviewed and signed off by Buyer/Buying Manager
  • Oversees order management, with support from AB/BAA, from insertion to keeping all records updated
  • Aware of and supports Buyer/Buying Manager to meet all deadlines
  • Works closely with merchandisers and designers to plan and balance ranges, providing insight on sales, commerciality, the current market, trends and competitors. Provides regular feedback and reports on the current season
  • Monitors and suggests action to relieve stock levels/maximise sales
  • Analysing seasonal sell-thru to suggest OTB to Buyer on categories responsible for
  • Notices discrepancies in data and independently communicates to relevant departments to rectify and follows up
  • Monitors deliveries and phasing in of stock closely. Aware of delivered % on all lines following
  • Awareness of how lines followed are performing
  • Reviews pricing strategy for lines following and reports/proposes to Buyer

  • Demonstrates good understanding of company strategy including trends and customer profile
  • Knows department/category best and worst sellers to ensure we are buying to maximise sales potential in store (both during buying season as well as through analysis)
  • Applies a depth of knowledge of the current competitive market place
  • Can prioritise own workload effectively and efficiently- or highlights to Buyer/Buying Manger if there are any issues managing workload
  • Works with merchandisers/customer care to ensure merchandise launches are phased appropriately

  • Considers store ranging requirements when building the range and develops a balanced range throughout
  • Demonstrates commercial thinking about all options before decision making to achieve maximum profit
  • Consistently delivers to support buying department in all aspects of buying function
  • Expected to make suggestions during buying to support buyer during busy period
  • Able to work under pressure and prioritise workload
  • If required, can provided comprehensive reports with supporting sales and competitor analysis to inform business strategy

  • PC literate- proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • A forward understanding of upcoming fashion trends with an eye for the ‘next big thing’
  • Ability to buy a comprehensive product range carefully and accurately and can explain considered decisions if required
  • An in-depth knowledge of the current competitive market place (comparative shopping)
  • Understanding and knowing delivery windows, phasing, sale dates and key launch/event  dates
  • SWOT analysis skills – able to identify and explain key issues thoroughly and succinctly and make suggestions informed by market/competitor/sales research
  • Numerical and analytical skills – thorough understanding of all metrics required to analyse performance and maximise profit
  • Efficiently and effectively uses FAR to raise orders, allocate stock and BI to download data when needed and can easily teach other team members how to use these systems

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Buyer/Assistant Merchandiser, or above
  • Experience in jewellery category preferred but not required
