Job description

Working across two of our fashion brands - I SAW IT FIRST and Missguided, duties will include but not limited to:

  • Work closely with a merchandise counterpart to develop & own department strategy under guidance of Senior Buyer to maximise profit and deliver a product range suitable for the customer.
  • Take accountability to make trading decisions; actively trading the department whilst continually reviewing changes in performance and agreeing appropriate actions with merch to minimise impact and maximise profit.
  • Have awareness of your own leadership style and an ability to adapt your approach to engage and motivate your team.
  • Acknowledges strategic suppliers and develops credible relationships that deliver value and commercial benefits, ensuring they can meet the changing needs of a fast-paced business.
  • Constantly seeks opportunities to improve margin and is aware of both the intake and profit margins in accordance to plan.
  • Works with Design to deliver a trend led & commercial range
  • Builds internal network and seeks to enhance the end to end customer experience, increasing range exposure to drive traffic and sales. i.e. SEO, VM, Press, Social.
  • Understands the impact of competitors pricing strategy and trading activity and uses this knowledge to make commercial decisions.
  • Own and oversee department critical path management.
  • Manage a team of Buying Admin Assistants and/or Assistant Buyers.

  • Buying experience or working as an Assistant Buyer role or similar.
  • Has an understanding the marketplace, target customer and key competitors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Good organisation skills and able to work well under pressure.
  • Able to demonstrate high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Able to be reactive and work in a fast-changing environment.
