As a Junior Designer, you will play a vital role in assisting in creating innovative and appealing textile designs for our client’s range of home goods products. Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with designers to develop design concepts and execute them into final textile designs for various home goods products, including bedding, bath, and beach, and other decorative items.
Assist in researching and identifying emerging trends, colors, patterns, and materials relevant to the home goods industry.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to ensure textile designs are aligned with consumer preferences and market demands.
Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and colorways for textile designs using design software and traditional hand-drawing techniques.
Participate in brainstorming sessions and design meetings to contribute fresh ideas and concepts for new product lines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, production, and marketing, to ensure seamless integration of textile designs into the manufacturing and marketing processes.
Support in the selection of suitable fabrics and materials for production, considering their quality, cost-effectiveness, and environmental sustainability.
Maintain accurate design records, including sketches, specifications, and sample documentation, for future reference and archival purposes.
Stay updated on the latest industry trends, manufacturing techniques, and technological advancements in textile design, and apply this knowledge to enhance the quality and innovation of our designs.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.
Prior experience or internships in textile design, home goods design, or a similar creative role is preferred.
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and CAD programs.
Strong artistic and creative abilities with a keen eye for color, pattern, and detail.
Solid understanding of textiles, fabric construction, printing techniques, and manufacturing processes.
Ability to create technical drawings, specifications, repeat patterns, and colorways using both digital and traditional methods.
Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment.
Self-motivated and proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
A portfolio showcasing your design work, including textile designs, sketches, and other relevant samples, is highly desirable.

Salary:

$50,000 – 60,000 + benefits

This position is offering 4 days working onsite at their New York City office and 1 day WFH.
