THE ROLE

The Commercial Planning function at Farfetch is a growing team of commercial and technical experts working to understand trading performance from both a supply and demand perspective, inform decisions to maximise opportunities and/or mitigate trading risks in the short term, and influence commercial levers to drive sustainable growth in the medium-long term.

The Junior Planning Analyst will report to the Senior Planning Analyst and be responsible for developing and running weekly trade reporting well as supporting on the development and delivery of seasonal Supply Planning. This will be critical in helping us understand performance and identify levers to drive growth.

You will work closely with colleagues from across the business, including On-site Trading, Pricing, Merchandising, Brand & Boutique Management, Marketing and CRM, to build and optimise scalable tools and processes and drive continual improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • You will develop analytical tools, methodologies and processes in order to understand Trade through relevant lenses, such as:
  • Assessing global and regional demand based on sales performance as well as other on-site metrics (e.g. page views, click-through rate, etc)
  • Ongoing tracking and reporting of sales, cost and profitability performance vs budget.
  • Assess and monitor supply quality and best-sellers availability leveraging supply metrics (e.g. Weeks of Cover, Sell-through, etc) and identifying/actioning on risks and opportunities.
  • You will work with a variety of teams to formulate actions to manage trading risks or opportunities, and be directly involved in facilitating the decision-making process among senior leaders in this area.
  • You will support defining and implementing the Seasonal Supply Plan for the business, in areas such as:
  • Forecasting optimal supply (depth/breadth) to deliver the targets at Category/Brand level
  • Developing initiatives to deliver this strategy, and work with the relevant teams to unlock critical supply
  • Develop tracking tools to monitor expected supply levels & sell-through as well as relating to weekly Trade performance identifying gaps & opportunities
  • You will be the business partner to a large spectrum of key stakeholders from the business, in and out the commercial team, and this could range from:
  • Working with On-Site and Trade Marketing teams to understand weekly performance and support in Trade
  • Working with Pricing, Online Merchandising, Marketing & CRM teams to drive demand to the right product and identify and execute on levers to maximise the potential of our stock - Working with Merchandising, E-Concessions, Business Development and Account Management teams to explore opportunities to grow the most desirable assortment/stock.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Experienced in Ecommerce Analytics, Demand Planning or Consulting
  • An individual with exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • A person who uses data to bring operationally and commercially relevant insights
  • Experienced working with a range of stakeholders
  • A professional with technical skills for processing and analysing large amounts of data:
  • Required: Excel (can perform complex functions) and SQL
  • Preferred: R, Matlab, Python
  • Someone who understands and has passion for e-commerce and the fashion/luxury industry is a very big plus!
