Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented and creative full-time Junior Visual Merchandiser to join our dynamic team at our corporate headquarters in Austin, TX. As a Junior Visual Merchandiser, you will work alongside a dynamic and creative group of individuals who make every workday fun and enjoyable. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for design, a strong understanding of consumer behavior, and a passion for creating visually appealing and engaging displays.

As a Junior Visual Merchandiser, you will work closely with the Visual Merchandising Manager to implement captivating in-store displays, ensuring our brand's image is consistently reflected and enhancing the customer shopping experience. You will receive guidance and support from this experienced manager as you develop your skills and contribute to the overall growth of the Nina Berenato Jewelry brand. We are looking for self-motivated, energetic, driven, and confident individuals who excel in organization and visual excellence. Additionally, the ideal candidate will:

  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, adapt to changing priorities and requirements, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Be an independent thinker, capable of following instructions while demonstrating creative and artistic skills with an ability to think outside the box and create compelling visual displays
  • Leverage collaborative partnerships with counterparts to work collaboratively and contribute to a positive team atmosphere
  • Possess a good understanding of consumer behavior, retail trends, and fashion industry dynamics
  • Be self-motivated, taking initiative in their role to drive efficiency and effectiveness

Responsibilities:

Visual Display Creation:

  • Collaborate with the Visual Merchandising Manager to conceptualize and design innovative and attractive in-store displays across all store locations that align with the brand's visual identity
  • Utilize artistic and creative skills to merchandise and arrange products in a visually appealing manner considering color coordination, balance, visual hierarchy, and other design elements to attract customers' attention and highlight key collections
  • Modify in-store displays to align with changing seasons, monthly floor remerchandising, new collection launches, holidays, and promotional events

Merchandising Planning Implementation:

  • Assist in creating and executing merchandising plans to ensure efficient placement and arrangement of merchandise throughout the store
  • Assist in updating the merchandising plans monthly to reflect the changing merchandise levels and seasonal trends
  • Travel across locations (including day trips or overnight stays) to assist in the implementation of visual strategies at different store locations
  • Keep accurate and organized records of past planning efforts including both photo catalogs and written notes

Store Layout Optimization:

  • Analyze store traffic patterns and customer flow to optimize store layout and improve shopper navigation
  • Collaborate with the visual store team leads to make adjustments that enhance the overall shopping experience for our customers

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze the effectiveness of our visual merchandising strategies by tracking metrics such as sales data, KPI’s, and customer engagement
  • Provide regular reports to the Visual Merchandising Manager, offering insights and recommendations for optimizing display performance

Prototyping, Mock-ups, and Creative Proposals:

  • Create prototypes and mock-ups of new visual merchandising displays for review and approval, ensuring they meet brand guidelines and resonate with our customer
  • Create comprehensive project proposals that outline the scope, objectives, deliverables, and resources required to execute successful visual merchandising initiatives

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the visual store team lead to educate them about visual merchandising principles and the rationale behind specific displays
  • Help train store staff on maintaining visual standards, including restocking displays and ensuring overall visual consistency
  • Collaborate with Visual Merchandising Manager to promptly address any repairs or replacements needed for visual merchandising displays
  • Assist the Visual Merchandising Manager with all department tasks
  • Assist the Visual Merchandising Manager with general errands to gather cost comparisons on supplies, purchase materials and/or attend vendor meetings

Market and Trend Research:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging visual merchandising techniques to continuously improve displays and remain competitive
  • Conduct regular research to gather insights into visual merchandising strategies and identify opportunities for improvement

Requirements:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Visual Merchandising, Fashion Design, or a related field is preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in visual merchandising, retail design, or related roles
  • Design Software: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) Data Analysis Software: Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets
  • Tool Proficiency: Proficiency in using various tools and equipment essential for visual merchandising, such as cutting tools, mounting materials, adhesives, and hardware, experience with power tools for assembling is necessary
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey visual concepts
  • Travel: Willingness and ability to travel across our other locations at Domain in Austin, Dallas & Houston

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $43,000/annually
  • Flexible working hours, ranging from 40 hours per week

  • Visual acuity for examining jewelry details
  • Clear and audible verbal communication
