direcTEX, Inc. is looking for a knitwear designer who will join our team assigned to service a major national retail customer, primarily on their women's ready-to-wear brands.
This designer’s primary responsibilities will include:
Developing seasonal storytelling packages; including extensive trend research on silhouette & yarn
Presenting these packages to design/sourcing/merchant teams via online or in person at customer’s Minneapolis HQ.
Design exclusive product for each assigned brand:
- The ability to translate high level aspirational trends to saleable product for our retail customer is absolutely key
- Must be efficient in Ai CAD development
- Graphic skills for developing artwork motifs is a must. (Kids wear is very heavy in graphic work)
Work directly with the direcTEX design team assigned to this retail customer on a day-to-day basis.
Collaborate with our internal team on strategy, designs, presentation prep, etc.
Work closely with partners and colleagues located at overseas manufacturers on yarn sourcing &
Ideal candidates would:
Be flexible to occasionally travel
Comfortable working both independently as well as in group settings.
Have several years of previous apparel design experience. (While all candidates with apparel design experience will be considered, knowledge of and experience in knitwear design is preferred.)
Location in Twin Cities metro and ability to work a hybrid schedule with a couple of days in the office per week is preferred but not required.
Candidates should be proficient in:
· Adobe Illustrator
· Adobe Photoshop
· Adobe InDesign
A familiarity with Microsoft Office is a plus.
