Lug, a globally recognized lifestyle brand, is on the lookout for an experienced and creative Buyer/Merchandise Planner specializing in apparel. Our ideal candidate will have an exceptional combination of technical knowledge of apparel and fabrications, with a strong emphasis on design and merchandise planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and implement comprehensive programs, collections, and assortments in various colorways, prints, and fabrications that align with the brand ethos and market trends.
  • Conduct regular reviews and analysis of style and product sell-through for accurate planning and forecasting.
  • Evaluate sales trends, inventory flow, and customer feedback to optimize product assortment and identify emerging opportunities.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and marketing, to ensure a cohesive merchandise strategy.
  • Present product strategies to senior management, providing insights and data-driven recommendations.
  • Maintain and strengthen vendor relationships, negotiating agreements to guarantee quality, cost, and delivery efficiency.
  • Drive the expansion and growth of our apparel line in Big Box Retail and QVC channels.
  • Source new suppliers and materials, while managing existing supplier relationships and performance.


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Retail Management, Fashion, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in buying/merchandising, preferably within the apparel industry.
  • Technical expertise in apparel and fabrications, with an emphasis on design and merchandise planning.
  • Proven track record in merchandise planning and assortment strategies for Big Box Retail and QVC channels.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and deliver insights and recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of retail math and inventory management systems.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a history of securing favorable terms with suppliers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven experience in sourcing and design is a definite plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
