What you'll do

The Merchandising Solution Delivery organization develops the Merchandise Planning software and systems that determine where millions of products will move around the globe to our stores each day. Our team thrives on strong relationships with our business partners and working diligently to address their needs which support TJX growth and operational stability.

We want people that are familiar with the challenges of developing software with agile methodologies for new and existing business processes as we continue to modernize and grow. We need people with strong customer focus, ownership, urgency and drive with excellent judgment, organizational and problem solving skills who can communicate and work well in a team.

We are seeking a motivated, talented, experienced Manager of Engineering who will be accountable for the overall engineering/technical health of Merchandise Planning products/platforms and engineering talent management within and across the Merchandise Planning team.

You will drive the development on eCommerce platforms that supports an outstanding customer experience using agile methodologies, software development best practices and groundbreaking tools/ technologies.

  • Coach, lead and develop a team of skilled and engaged software engineers at various levels of seniority. Sets the talent approach (i.e onboarding / development, team structure / make-up, careering pathing etc) for technical talent within the Merchandise Planning Product and Technical domains.
  • Good understanding of new tooling, processes and best practice, staying aligned to industry trends.
Successful candidates will have:

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years leading and developing teams as a manager
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent Engineering skillset / training / work experience in relevant technical domain
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of complex technical Epics, or technical aspects of larger Epics to achieve business outcomes that may span more than one product team or technical domain.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in the architecture and implementation of applications and systems of medium to high level of complexity.
  • Experience influencing senior technology, product and program management, and business leaders recommending solutions and articulating trade-offs that could span more than one product team / technical domain.
