Job Overview

The Creative Manger of Visual Merchandise Execution is responsible for driving the in-store customer experience, sales, conversion and the brand platform by leading and directing the in-store visual communication and merchandise strategies. The Manager is involved in multiple creative projects and acts as the gatekeeper developing organizational processes that ensures deadline and project commitments are met. This person will interact with cross functional partners both internal (merchants, marketing, finance, store environment and stores visual merchandising teams) and external vendors to drive business initiatives and enhance both the Macy’s brand and vendor brand. The Creative Manager supports the creative merchandise process for Central Visual Merchandising and contributes to the development of visual collateral for visual merchandise concepts including monthly initiatives, seasonal campaigns, and graphics. The role reports to the Senior Manager of Visual Merchandising

Essential Functions

  • Lead the development, implementation, and execution of all visual strategy ensuring initiatives are aligned with the company's brand purpose, messaging, and business goals.
  • Communicate clearly and directly with vendor partners to ensure they maintain timelines. Ensure artwork is submitted on time and ensure contracts are in place before production deadline.
  • Manage creative, production & distros of visual collateral and 3D elements
  • Develop and oversee the creation of visual directives, including campaign, marketing, new store openings, and brand specific set ups.
  • Manage & maintain input and update all store information, brands distribution, visual fixtures, special programs. Survey the field for store updates seasonally.
  • Owner the development and follow thru of meeting recaps, workload calendars of commitments for creative.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, using data to make informed decisions and optimize future initiatives.
  • Reimagine ways of working and shape the future vision of Stores by removing complexity and implementing better end-to-end processes through merchandise execution tools & resources.
Qualifications And CompetenciesEducation Requirements
  •  We encourage candidates with either a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field to apply.
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in visual communication and merchandise execution, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Macy’s store experience or other retail experience required.
  • Strong understanding of visual merchandising principles and techniques, with an eye for detail
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful merchandise and visual communication strategies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve business objectives.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to inform decision-making.

  • Ability to communicate the company vision to the team to help them understand their role in achieving job goals and objectives.

  • Strong organizational, time management and follow-through skills. Detail oriented, highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
