Job Overview

The Manager, Visual Merchandising is responsible for creating and driving the overall brand vision at our retail locations. This individual will manage the field visual merchandizing team to ensure all visual strategies are executed properly and to brand standards.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new creative concepts and strategies for the retail division / stores
  • Lead the development and execution of the monthly visual directive based on product assortment, ensuring the visual messaging aligns with the company strategy
  • Lead the creation of merchandise transition strategies based on seasonality, location, and demographic
  • Lead the creation and execution of the visual merchandising plan(s) for all new store openings
  • Partner with leadership team to create visual strategies and merchandising plans for forward looking seasons
  • Partner with vendors to create new fixture concepts for larger footprint stores
  • Analyze retail sales metrics and determine seasonal assortment plans and visual presentation
  • Analyze retail sales trends and partner with cross-functional teams to make the necessary changes to flow and replenishment models
  • Support window marketing campaign planning and installation
  • Develop and implement visual merchandising guidelines and standard operating procedures
  • Manage current vendor relationships and consistently look for new vendor opportunities / partnerships
  • Manage department schedules and travel, based on current store needs and new store openings
  • Manage, develop, and mentor visual merchandising team

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or other visual design tools
  • Knowledge of new store openings
  • Ability to manage and mentor a team
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a clear sense of priorities for self and team
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey strategies and information at all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in field visual merchandising
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience
