Job description

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Merchandise Buyer, the Merchandise Buying Assistant plays a key role in providing administration support to the Accessories Merchandise Buying Team.

Key accountabilities include the raising and management of the purchase order process for all categories, maintenance and accuracy of system data in adherence to the Critical Path, and liaison with external suppliers.

The Role

Key accountabilities include the raising and management of the purchase order process for all categories, maintenance and accuracy of system data in adherence to the Critical Path, and liaison with external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creation and management of purchase orders in adherence to Critical Path
  • Manage data integrity between Range Plan and Retek (RMS)
  • Ensure product is contracted into right category
  • Approve barcode labels/stickers with suppliers
  • Maintenance of style numbers and order numbers in range plan
  • Liaison with external suppliers
  • Manage and prepare Style file Document for timely handover to Design for VM handover
  • Run and issue weekly reports for team - DPOs, Supplier Sales, and Trade Sales (where required)
  • Prepare and issue monthly Web Copy for online team
  • Help assist with delivery tracking via Qlikview
  • Key Look Delivery Tracking
  • Competitive shop on regular basis, providing feedback, in conjunction with Merchandise Buying Team
  • Assist the Senior Merchandise Buyer, Merchandise Buyer and Head of Buying and Production with general duties as requested
  • Manage and prepare Style file Document for timely handover to Design for VM handover

Profile

The Ideal Candidate has

  • Retail experience preferred
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word) and fashion related software e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Retek, MicroStrategy
  • Effective organisational & planning skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good analytical skills
  • A high attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure, working to tight deadlines
