About The Role

mnml is looking for an experienced eCommerce Merchandise Planner to join the team. We are growing rapidly, and we need individuals that are just as comfortable working as part of a team as they are individually, delivering an on-trend product assortment and supporting growth initiatives. Successful individuals will have strong and significant E-Commerce planning experience in men’s fashion, possess strong analytical skills, radiate creative problem solving, and be able to keep pace with an environment that changes quickly. They will work to create a solid merchandise mix to optimize sales volume and profitability based on emerging market trends, past sales/revenue, and established assortment strategies.

*This role is hybrid. The incumbent must live in the Los Angeles area.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage and develop annual, seasonal, and monthly OTB for product categories. Provide timely and accurate re-projections based upon current trends to effectively manage inventory. Present OTB plans monthly to leadership team.
  • Plan and revise strategies for merchandise flow on order, based on shipping dates, seasonal calendars, and open-to-buy parameters in conjunction with Production
  • Support the conceptual development of future buys by generating style recaps, account/regional summaries, trend analyses, and competitive market research reports
  • Conduct weekly analysis of stock-to-sales ratio by merchandise category, identifying trending and underperforming lines and best sellers to provide actionable recommendations to buyers for improving merchandise mix
  • Recap business performance, and communicate financial results, reviewing variance to plan, deviations to trend, current forecasts, and action plans
  • Participate in the development of merchandise assortments, sales-to-stock plans, and marketing strategies to support yearly planned company objectives
  • Effectively manage inventory composition across new, re-order and core styles for assigned product categories
  • Develop and create pre-season assortment plans using historical and trend SKU productivity performance
  • With guidance, create pre-season sales, margin and inventory plans by department, class, and/or SKU to support product and financial strategies
  • Analyze sales, inventory and margin performance and effectiveness of promotions, price adjustments and product launches
  • Partner to effectively manage collection/landing pages while maximizing product views and conversion for assigned product categories
  • Create, manage, and distribute of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting for the design and production departments
  • Recap product categories quarterly hindsight to drive future strategic inventory, profit, and assortment decisions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Associates degree in Fashion, preferably Fashion Merchandising
  • 3-5 years of merchandising experience in Merchandise Planning, Allocation, Buying, Inventory Management or related field, with a successful track record of high-volume business growth and bottom-line results
  • Experience using Shopify as an ecommerce platform

Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

  • Ability to understand and act upon financial retail indicators such as sales, gross margin, inventory productivity, sell-through and turn in dealing with an OTB and P/L
  • High fashion intelligence and a broad-based business acumen
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong desire to work in the fashion industry and demonstrate an ability to identify and foresee fashion trends
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data reporting and analysis; v-lookups, pivot tables, macros
  • Proactive and takes the initiative to drive business and think outside of the box
  • Ability to interact, influence and communicate with all levels of employees
