We are partnered with our retained client on a search for a senior merchandise planner.

Our client is an innovative fashion brand based in LA that has seen massive growth after the last two years and are on track to double revenue over the next 18 months. We are looking for an experienced planner looking to grow their career in one of the fastest growing fashion brands in Los Angeles.

ABOUT THE ROLE: SENIOR PLANNER / SR DEMAND PLANNER

The Senior Planner will support the DTC, Wholesale and Amazon reporting directly to the Director of Planning.

The role leverages planning and buying activities to maximize sales and profit by developing sound merchandise plans for one or more departments that support the company’s goals for sales, turn, and margin.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Analyze key selling metrics to understand brand performance including style, sizing, print, color and other key attributes. Action this data for accurate buying and replenishment forecasts.
  • Review selling to identify ATS/ weeks of supply and trends and then make actionable recommendations to achieve product lifecycle and turn goals.
  • Analyze key item trends and seasonality, adjusting forecasts, receipts and inventory levels as needed to support plans for more complex categories
  • Drive and create purchase orders for all channels based on demand and hind-sighting on a monthly basis.
  • Build reliable forecasts for replenishment products at the collection & sku level (ladder plans). Review and action for rebuys monthly.
  • Optimize inventory efficiency - assess transfer needs/ quantify opportunities between channels (wholesale, retail, Amazon) to achieve maximum revenue and profitability results.
  • Collaborate with merchant team to build buys which factor both historical and future trends.
  • Provide Merchandising team with analysis and data at the category, style, or size levels to help inform new product development.
  • Ensure responsible utilization of open to buy budget.
  • Create and Manage Open To Buy: Forecast sales plan, track and monitor sales and purchases by period, keeping accurate track of launch or receipt dates and quantities.
  • Create meaningful reports to recap the business and for cross functional team discussions.
  • Create strategies to mitigate risk/grow the business/hit kpis and communicate these to cross functional teams.

EXPERIENCE/ REQUIREMENTS:

Currently a Planner or Sr Planner within a branded, ecommerce DTC environment with 5+ years experience. High end preferred. Must include apparel/ accessories.

  • Creative problem solver/ “outside the box” thinker
  • Proven track record of achieving financial objectives
  • Proven strong analytical acumen to identify and resolve business performance issues specifically in forecasting and planning models.
  • Hands-on or entrepreneurial attitude. Self-starter. Results oriented.
  • Comfortable with working in and bringing digestible/actionable conclusions to large sets of data
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-lookup, index match, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Tableau experience is beneficial but not necessary
  • ERP systems
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization
