About the Team: As a Merchandise Financial Planner, you will create and maintain financial plans that align with overall company goals in partnership with the Assortment Planning and Inventory optimization team. You must have will have an innate understanding of the business and translate those needs into broad and thoughtful plans that benefit their business unit and total company. This person will achieve success through innovation, ambiguity, and consistently evolve and innovate new ways to efficiently plan and assess the business. You will own the ‘Open to Buy’ or merchandise financial plans for sell in, sell out, ASP, MMU, stock by channel, and be a promotional gatekeeper and engineer.

Your Role as a Merchandise Planner:

  • Budget/Preseason Planning – Owner within the Global Buy Review process reflective of: Merchandising Building Blocks, Channel contribution, LFL vs Total, ASP growth, Promotional strategy, Inventory planning, Base vs New performance.
  • Weekly Trade Review – Own and collaborate cross functionally to deliver trade reviews that guide partners on; Merchandise performance, and actions taken to drive sell out optimization.
  • Manage end to end the Monthly Open-To-Buy process to set sales and stock targets by week/channel reflective of recent trends and promotional adjustments. Measure OTB against GBR (original) plans.
  • Effectively communicate wholesale revenue status and opportunities on a monthly basis
  • Build out tools and reporting to support wholesale revenue from a merchandising perspective.
  • Assess promotional effectiveness to build inform future promotional calendar.
  • Partner and collaborate with our commercial finance partners on future risk and opportunities against the latest forecast.
What is needed to succeed:
  • 5+ years of solid experience working within Merchandising and/or experience from retail, fashion, lifestyle or FMCG industry.
  • Strong, seasoned, technical merchandise planner / OTB manager or with vertical retailing, omni experience.
  • Strong business acumen, fact based, analytical and strategic.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage large sets of data and present results in a simple manner.
  • Able to develop and maintain strong working relationships with peers and cross-functional teams.
  • Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities.
  • Able to perform under pressure, organize and prioritize workload to meet deadline.
  • Strong problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to part of a team, set challenging standards, develop strong partnerships and lead others to action.
  • Strong presentation skills inclusive of concise messaging
  • Support an environment that fosters respect for the ideas of others as well as ongoing collaboration to execute business strategy.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong aptitude to learn technical applications (like: MS Access, Hyperion and APTOS) quickly.
  • Knowledge of planning software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
NYC Salary :

$85,000 - $100,000 commensurate with experience
