Merchant / Merchandiser – Women’s Sleep & Kids

Adecco Creative & Marketing is seeking a Merchandiser for a high end contemporary fashion brand. Our client has an enormously diverse portfolio ranging from retail to global licensed brands. This role will focus on women's specials assortment, sleep, and kids. This is a direct hire opportunity based onsite in NYC.

­­­POSITION SUMMARY:

The Merchant for Women’s Specials, Sleep & Kids will support the Design & Merchandising Director by overseeing the merchandising for all categories in tandem with Designer and Sales team(s).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive the merchandising assortments to meet customer needs and align with the overall department strategy
  • Work cross functionally with design, sales, marketing, and production to ensure that customer needs are met while ensuring profitability and resulting in increased earnings
  • Daily data entry in Movex, Nuorder, and PLM – uploading and updating style information
  • Research new business opportunities to ensure that the brand brings in new customers while maintaining its base
  • Oversee projects and ensure quality of work
  • Create a roadmap for Sleep/Kids for the design team
  • Work with the corresponding sales team to create a roadmap for Women’s Specials
  • Review the linesheets daily/weekly to ensure the line(s) are well merchandised
  • Assign style #s and color names
  • Attend meetings with sales team regarding selling information and comps needed for FY
  • Set wholesale/retail pricing

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design or Merchandising preferred
  • 4-6 years of related merchandising experience, open to candidates with women’s, sleep and/or kids experience
  • Understanding of the Contemporary market
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communicator
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Strong time management skills and ability to stay on calendar
  • Proficiency in Movex and NuOrder (or related systems), as well as Microsoft Office and PLM
  • General understanding of fabric/color/construction/costing
  • Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop skills are a bonus but not a must

Start Date: ASAP

Pay Rate: 70k
