JOB PURPOSE As a Merchandiser at Burberry, you’ll work closely with the Merchandising Manager on the end-to-end process of managing the product range for our Outlets across all categories, collaborating with a multitude of teams on product strategy execution. You will successfully build the collection for our Outlet stores, support regional teams with the buying process while collaborating with sourcing, inventory & planning to drive excellence across the Outlet product range.

This Merchandiser role is available on a full time, permanent basis and will be based in our Horseferry house offices in London. We operate a hybrid working model, with 3 days per week in the office and 2 days from home with flexibility required at certain busy periods.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the full lifecycle of products in all categories within Outlet, from brief to delisting/exit, working with the wider team in developing the strategic plan for products
  • Contribute to the range plan development and approval, including pricing strategy and competitor review
  • Develop relationships with cross functional peers and regional teams, including Sourcing, Design, Product Development, Planning and Merchandising teams; influencing them in delivering strategic direction for the category, gaining product feedback and market research
  • Provide seasonal buys guidance, undertaking sales analysis/reporting and prepare feedback, considering strategy, selection & category performance
  • Manage accuracy of market documents and tools including PLM data entry, product details presentations and Excel databases, including partnership with the pricing team on structures and price bands

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Proven experience in category merchandising, preferably in a luxury/premium environment with the fashion/retail environment with an international/regional remit
  • Understanding of Open to Buy management
  • Knowledge and passion for trends in a global market and luxury consumer and competitors
  • Demonstrable commercial awareness, retail math skills and understanding of product cost, achieving a balance between creativity and commercial implications
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to negotiate with credibility, share information effectively, and collaborate confidently with cross functional teams at all levels
  • Ability to manage projects independently
  • Excellent diligence and strong analytical skills
  • Advanced excel skills alongside SAP and PLM proficiency
