Merchandiser
OVERVIEW: HATCH is an innovative maternity brand of thoughtfully designed solutions in apparel and maternity-safe skincare for before, during and after pregnancy.
We’re seeking a Merchandiser to join our talented and growing in-house team. This person must be hard-working, passionate, innovative and organized. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter — someone who is going to help define and grow our brand for years to come!
This person will work directly with cross-functional teams including Design, Production, Planning, Marketing, Wholesale and Retail to execute product strategies and initiatives that deliver against the company’s brand and business objectives. This person is responsible for supporting the execution of on and offline merchandising strategies for HATCH, Motherhood Maternity and a Pea in the pod brands. The ideal candidate will focus on executing revenue-driving product and merchandising strategies that are driven by a passion for bringing world-class products to women at all stages of pregnancy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive consistent improvement in sales and margin via omni channel merchandising and buying strategies.
- Constantly look for opportunities to exceed plans and quickly adapt to changes occurring in the business.
- Establish a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape.
- Evolve pricing and promotional structure of each brand.
- Make customer-centric recommendations and decisions across all customer touchpoints. Constantly incorporate applicable and actionable customer feedback. Understand customer behavior across channels.
- Develop, communicate, build support for, and implement business strategies.
- Regularly share business results, risks and opportunities with cross functional teams to connect them into business performance.
- Gather product insights to ensure consumer feedback is being integrated into the product development process.
- Hindsight seasonal business - giving teams insight on opportunities to maximize as well as risks to minimize.
- Develop and maintain lineplans with the assistant merchant.

- You are an excellent communicator and have the ability to quickly grasp new concepts while asking appropriate questions when information or instruction is not entirely clear

REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS or equivalent.
- 8+ years of experience in a retail or ecommerce environment.
- In NY Metro area.
- Able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and strong organization skills.
- A commitment to high-quality work and to positive and productive relationships with all — team members, peers, managers, etc.
- High proficiency in excel and ability to learn new tools.
