Senior Merchandiser, Lee Global Product: Become the Newest Member of Kontoor Brands

The Senior Global Product Merchandiser leads a key region for the Global team. This position will handle all key interactions related to servicing the EMEA regional and operates as key interface with NAM region for tag-ons related to the elevated end of the global product range. This position is also responsible for managing all aspects of shepherding the development of our tier 1 Pinnacle, tier 2 and 3 elevated lines. The position works directly with the Director of Global products in defining product creation and operating strategies and processes for these tiers of distribution. This position is also the key functional point of contact for SmartSheet related “faux PLM” activities across the global product team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy
    • Set global merchandising / category strategy
    • Set the line architecture for the product segments
    • Style/sku productivity management
    • Analyze the past season performance on SKU level and define the Profitability & Productivity Targets (SKU Rationalization)
    • Pro-active communication on future strategies & changes.
    • Facilitate GTM calendar at each milestone meeting
    • Evaluate processes, costing, new opportunities, etc.
  • Product Direction
    • Analyze product performance to evaluate strengths and weaknesses to aid future line development and utilize past season sales, product performance data, current marketplace information and trends to define product strategies.
    • Own global line plan
    • Identify carry-overs (together with Regional Merch teams) and lifecycle management
    • Hold regular meetings with Regional Merchandising teams (virtual & market visits) to ensure full awareness of Regional needs in terms of line structure, product requirements, pricing architecture, distribution, competitive activity and important operational issues
    • Drive merchandising synergies between regions – global adoption targets
  • Product Creation
    • Drive the product creation process for the respective product segment towards brief and goals, including innovation
    • Consolidate the Global Category Forecast, own line editing and inform Operations at each step of GTM
    • Manage the costing process (target, brief, prototype, bulk samples) including lead times, minimums and upcharges and identify opportunities for improving cost.
    • Responsible for the commercial sign off on the Global line and Regional adoption. Close coordination with designers & developers
    • Brief Marketing needs to Global Marketing Teams (packaging, product launch needs, etc.)
    • Manage global SMS ordering process
    • Own the chase process – strategic response to incremental product / business opportunities, assess and respond to product specific regional requests where appropriate
    • Drive Global Mandatory & Recommended Assortment
  • Project Management
    • Manage Portfolio of projects related to optimizing globalization efforts, processes, systems and tools
