We’re looking for a APLA Nike Direct Digital Merchandising Manager with an affinity for product that enjoy the energy of moving at the pace of retail and the consumer. A successful Merchandising Manager will thrive and contribute to an inclusive, positive, and progressive team dynamic and operate in a way that elevates the total team
You'll be a part of the Asia Pacific and Latin America geography, whose main goal is to represent and serve the consumers who inhabit six major markets in this region (Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia and India, Australia & New Zealand, Mexico, and Central and South America).
The candidate should possess retail savvy and analytical abilities, understand retail environments (preferably in digital), and bring a consumerist perspective to the team and business, and have a passion for serving our Women's consumer. We’re looking for an individual with a desire to influence across teams and functions and work together to build seasonal assortment plans with retail end-in-mind.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
You will work within the APLA NDDC cross-functional team serving as a connector across DSM, Marketing, and Member Growth. This merchant will build the seasonal assortment framework for the Women’s APLA Nike Direct Digital business to ensure the product strategy serves the consumer and delivers on the financial goals of the organization. You will participate in assortment building in partnership with consumer merchants, territory merchants, and cross gender counterparts to ensure we are delivering the most compelling products, stories, and experiences to our Nike Direct Consumer.
You will balance multiple seasons and your insights will contribute to future seasonal plans and adoption by supporting Consumer Merchandising upstream (10%). You will manage your areas of assortment planning in depth during the seasonal process (70%) and gather insights from in-market seasons (20%). You’ll stay curious about product and industry trends in APLA across Performance, Sport, and Lifestyle informed by deep consumer insights ultimately informing the consumer construct of opportunities for Nike Direct and our Members.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
This role collaborates across Consumer, Marketplace, and Unite merchandising teams with a focus on serving our territory merchants. Additionally, you will work with a cross-functional Nike Direct team including DSM (Assortment Planning), Consumer Direct Marketing, Member Growth, Insights and Analytics, and Digital Business and Operations teams. This collaboration will ensure your merchandising strategies meet the Nike Brand strategy and marketplace opportunities of the Asia Pacific and Latin America regions.
The role will report to the APLA NDDC Women’s Merchandising Director.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor/Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proven experience of 5 years or more in merchandising, buying, product creation and/or retail in a vertical, multi-brand or digital environment
- Experience and understanding of apparel/footwear, retail, merchandising, and digital/ecommerce in global-consumer marketplaces
- Strong Retail Competence with proficiency in retail & profit-based metrics
- Ability to translate insights and retail results into useful strategies and plans
