The associate merchant role exists within 3 marketplace units (MPU’s): Nike Direct (Nike’s own retail business), Strategic Partners and Consumer Merchandising Teams working on the balance of market. For each, the role sits on a gender product merchandising team, responsible to translate seasonal strategy for the gender and marketplace unit into the optimal assortment for the respective consumers served. The role partners with Gender Merchandising leaders, cross functional partners and MPU collaborators to plan, help build and trade a consumer right assortment.
This role will focus lifestyle for our Nike Inline Stores in North America.

This role supports building consumer right assortments for Nike Direct Stores, using historical data, analytics and real-time market feedback to inform the future (coming seasons) while winning today.
The candidate should possess demonstrated retail acuity and analytical abilities, an understanding of retail environments, a desire to collaborate with digital partners, and bring a consumerist perspective to the team and business!
What you will work on
You will help support the Senior Manager to drive the comprehensive Lifestyle Footwear offense for the North America Stores business. You will collaborate cross-functionally between digital merchants and gender teams to ensure assortment plans meet consumer demand and strategies implement in retail to win across store concepts. You will support in building the seasonal assortments, ensure systems excellence and oversee style in-season productivity. You will oversee pricing and launch dates for all styles to ensure a seamless consumer journey. You will understand related aspects of the business and marketplace when initiating seasonal work.
You’ll build assortment plans related to the consumer served with and understanding of Nike Directs position in the market, blending fact based and intuitive inputs. You will participate in weekly business reviews and deliver insights and actions for the Men’s Footwear business. This includes assortment building and submits via system entry.
You will balance multiple seasons at one time and will apply consumer insights and selling history to craft future season plans (20%). You will manage areas of assortment planning in depth during the pre-season, and in-season process (60%), maintain seasonal tools and systems (20%).
Who you will work with
You will work with fellow merchants and cross functional teams within Nike Direct; in particular Planning, Allocation, Visual Merchandising and Retail Brand. You will work with operations and Insights/analytics teams; relying on business reporting for your area which includes quantitative and qualitative metrics on sales, inventory and consumer behaviors.
You report to the Nike Direct Men’s Footwear Sr. Manager.
What you bring
Requires Bachelor’s Degree and/or combination of education and 2 years relevant experience
2 years' experience in footwear or apparel merchandising, product creation and/or retail in a vertical, multi-brand or digital environment
Understanding of common retail and/or digital profit-based metrics such as sell-through, turn, ASP, UPT and others
Microsoft Office proficiency, specifically in Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook
Passion for collaboration, with a team-first demeanor and mentality
