The Middle Mile Transportation team plays a key role in this process, implementing and performing new inbound transportation capabilities that will enable Nike's Digital First Supply Chain at Scale.

Who we are looking for:

Based in Memphis, TN, the Regional Transportation Manager will be responsible for driving capacity growth, new capabilities implementation and delivery speed and precision improvements for NIKE Retail stores and Wholesale customers within their respective US region. The Regional Manager will focus on driving proactive exception dashboard/critical metric development and analytics to determine root causes to improve outbound network lead time, reliability, cost, and sustainability for NIKE’s Retail stores and Wholesale customers. This role leads the outbound delivery flows to stores within the service region and partners with peer managers to drive performance across the domestic outbound network. The Regional Transportation Manager will provide proactive management and day-to-day operational support for NIKE’s Retail and Wholesale customer delivery activities and related communications between internal/external partners and national, regional, and final mile Logistics’ Service Providers (LSP's). The Regional Transportation Manager will lead carrier relationships and the Outbound planning function with 3rd Party Transportation providers to ensure proactive volume fluctuations planning to customers while ensuring maximum assets' utilization, optimal cycle time while minimizing product expedites.

What you will work on:

The Regional Transportation Manager will lead the Regional Transportation team for their geography in a dynamic operational environment, to consistently exceed established goals, demonstrate a commitment to both consumers/customers, and a dedication to excellence and developing improved, proactive mechanisms to lead volume fluctuations versus react. The Regional Transportation Manager will lead team to identify and recommend distribution network and process changes that root cause and correct deviations from expected results. Regional Transportation Manager will closely partner with peer Regional Managers to align and implement Domestic Middle Mile strategy and operational excellence.

The Regional Transportation Manager will drive positive operational change using analytics/data driven decision making to develop a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Build and maintain strategic relationships with contracted transportation providers, and customers in support of Transportation initiatives. Partner with Marketplace Operations and Territory Management to develop proactive plans to successfully implement peak season volumes, delivery capability improvement projects and support evolving network requirements.

Who you will work with:

As key member of the N.A. Transportation leadership team, this team will support multiple businesses and customers for NIKE including wholesale and NIKE’s Retail stores by partnering with the Transportation Capabilities, LSP Management, Global Procurement, Middle Mile Inbound Transportation, Global Product Security and Marketplace Operations teams to develop and implement the future of Nike Transportation Strategy. This role will be responsible for partnering very closely with Marketplace Retail Territory Management team to build flexible capacity solutions to meet and exceed consumer and customers’ demand for speedy, reliable, accurate, sustainable, and cost-effective service. This individual will be tasked to seek out, introduce and apply industry standard methodologies with a focus proactive management.

This role will establish effective relationships with partners across the supply chain and business to create the future of Middle Mile transportation.

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in business or a related field (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in direct leadership of Transportation/Transportation operations in a Retail supply chain environment and use of project management tools and methodologies is required.
  • Validated experience supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing operations and analytics teams; overseeing workload and growing team skills; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and experience making group/cross-functional leadership presentations
  • Experience communicating across all levels, from front line associates to senior level leaders.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, highly-collaborative and team-based environment
  • Experience driving performance, leading creation of automated process flows and drill-down dashboards (Tableau/Power BI, Alteryx) and mining operational data to drive continuous process improvements and operational results.
  • Experience being accountable for service, cost, quality, and sustainability performance and managing trade-offs to drive best results.
  • Understanding of Marketplace operational strategy, policies, and procedures
  • Experience running 3rd party vendor for daily operational execution and load planning
