Who Are We Looking For?

Nike seeks a Brand Planning Director with experience partnering with brand marketing teams to develop brand marketing plans and ongoing seasonal offense in a cross-functional marketing offense! The Brand planning Director for Brand defining, Purpose & Athletes (BDPA) is responsible for helping define and align our brand priorities in North America, in partnership with the North America BDPA Leadership Team and other critical functions across the enterprise. You will be critical planning leader & strategic partner responsible for ensuring BDPA team is running effectively, efficiently and delivering according to Nike’s daily, seasonal and long-term marketing objectives. You are part of a management team, partnering to establish and lead brand planning best practices and expertise across BDPA team. In addition, you will also lead and drive planning, as per defined code process, for one season across all brand management teams (mens/ womens/ Kids/ BDPA) to enable integrated planning across all marketing teams.

The Brand Planning Director is highly organized, results driven, is an expert at brand strategy, process planning and organizational management. You are the conduit to internal functional partners, establishing and upholding these relationships. You are a systematic and are continually forward-thinking, developing your understanding of marketing strategy to meet the ever-changing marketplace.

What Will You Work On?

As Director Brand Planning, you will create the future by managing to the development of the Annual Operating Plan, Seasonal Brand Architecture, Seasonal Marketing architecture & budget planning. You will lead the upstream consumer code process from Annual Planning to Seasonal Kick-Off, ensuring clarity in our brand direction, consistent measurement of our brand performance to fuel continuous improvement and enable our priorities to be resourced to ensure individuals are getting rest and recovery. This includes the development of budgets to meet small to medium business goals. You will partner with the brand management team to shape the leadership agenda by providing organization, thought partnership and team management tools that drive impact and ensure we follow through on our brand strategy and all projects that drive it. You develop a team partnership with Brand Planning peers to build-out our brand direction, review the results and socialize lessons we must apply to the future.

Who Will You Work With?

You will report directly to Senior Director of Brand Planning and dotted line report to the Vice President of BDPA in North America. You are the key planning & operational partner to this leader and will drive a cross-functional team. You are the key partner to Program Management who drive the downstream process. You will partner closely with Consumer Direct Directors/ Managers, Program Management Directors and Program Managers to ensure work is appropriately managed between your teams. Your primary cross-functional business partners include Brand Management, Consumer Direct/ Integrated Media Planning and Program Management, while working closely with Studio Management, Production, Program Development and Capabilities on our end-to-end brand marketing process as needed.

What You Bring To Nike
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher, or combination of relevant education, experience, and training
  • 10+ years experience in a creative, fast-paced and complex marketing environment
  • A committed personal passion for storytelling
  • A motivation and desire to make sport a daily habit
  • A strategic mentality with innovative problem-solving ability
  • Deep expertise in Brand Management and Marketing Strategy
  • Expertise in Finance, Data/Analytics and Consumer Insights
  • Experience building marketing budgets to meet business goals
  • Demonstrates effective communication across a range of mediums
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills with senior leadership
  • Master of driving collaboration and integration across multiple teams
  • Confidence in shaping and supporting leadership agendas to drive vision
  • Systematic problem solver with the ability to drive and enable end-to-end process
  • Proven ability to maximise consumer insights and industry trends to shape strategies
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead alignment across matrix teams
