The Development Pattern Maker plays a crucial role in our product development process, translating conceptual designs into precise patterns that serve as the foundation for our final products. This individual will work closely with the Creative Director and other members of the design and production teams to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and style.

Responsibilities:

Ability to create patterns from conceptual sketches:

Interpret conceptual sketches and translate them into accurate paper patterns or digital patterns using CAD software.

Consider factors such as fabric type, drape, and fit when creating patterns.

Knowledge of contemporary market hard or soft wovens categories:

Stay up-to-date with trends and developments in the contemporary market for hard and soft woven categories.

Apply knowledge of different fabric types and weaving techniques to pattern creation.

Knowledge of Grading:

Understand grading principles and techniques to ensure accurate sizing across different garment sizes.

Collaborate with the grading team to maintain consistency and accuracy in sizing.

Meet with the Creative Director to discuss the base design & final product review:

Participate in meetings with the Creative Director to discuss design concepts and review final product samples.

Incorporate feedback and make necessary adjustments to patterns based on discussions.

Create paper patterns and/or digitize the final sample pattern to pass to the factory:

Generate paper patterns using traditional pattern-making techniques.

Digitize patterns using CAD software for efficient sharing with production teams.

Measure, cut, and design patterns in the material required:

Utilize precise measuring techniques to ensure accurate pattern dimensions.

Cut pattern pieces from fabric according to specifications.

Double-check the pattern dimensions and style:

Conduct thorough quality checks to verify that pattern dimensions and style elements meet design requirements.

Address any discrepancies or issues promptly.

Tweak pattern where needed:

Make adjustments to patterns as necessary to achieve the desired fit, silhouette, and design details.

Work collaboratively with designers and sample makers to refine patterns during the development process.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Pattern Maker or similar role in the fashion industry.

Proficiency in pattern-making techniques and CAD software.

Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabric properties, and sewing techniques.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of accuracy.

Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Creative problem-solving abilities and willingness to adapt to evolving design requirements.

A degree in Fashion Design or a related field is preferred.
