WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Our Pittsburgh-based Demand & Supply Management (DSM) team is looking for a Planning Manager! You will focused on optimizing our partnership with Dick’s Sporting Goods (DSG). You will play a pivotal role in bringing Nike’s marketplace vision to life with specific focus on pre-season planning, partner engagement, reacting to in-season analysis, and results reporting. As a Planning Manager, you’ll bring curiosity, a self-starter mentality, influential communication skills, and a strong ability to operate in ambiguous situations. Collaboration is a key. You’ll proactively build positive relationships across the Nike organization. As a leader within the DSG Marketplace Unit, you’ll embrace & lead change, cultivate innovation, and value differences. WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

In this role, you will be at the center of the managing the partnership between a key customer and internal cross-functional teams. On any given day you might be developing style-level retail sales and inventory plans to inform financial plans that will fuel assortments and influence supply decisions. You’ll also continuously monitor performance indicators and take responsive measures including order book management, at-once inventory procurement, and formulating recommendations aimed at achieving targets. You will use strong communication skills with internal/external partners to elicit information, cultivate productive dialogue, verbalize ideas, and align tactical decisions with an overarching strategy. Finally, you’ll own the business by creating insightful reports, interpreting consumer demand signals, coordinating samples, and selling-in assortments seasonally. This work will challenge you to sift through large amounts of data, exert influence, and collaborate with multiple internal and external partners.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You’ll be the point person for specific NIKE product segments and/or dimensions in the Pittsburgh office and report to a local Planning Director. You’ll collaborate regularly with a variety of groups and individuals, including (but not limited to): merchandising, merchandise financial planning, marketing, marketplace teams, operations as well as various external contributors and leaders.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing or related field or equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
  • 4+ years’ experience in Buying, Planning, Allocation for a multi-store retailer or Assortment Planning experience with other apparel / footwear wholesale organization.
  • Proven ability to consume large amounts of data, analyze, identify critical information, and make recommendations.
  • Strong ability to influence through compelling communication.
  • Able to think critically and quantify the potential of a product in the marketplace while identifying gaps to bottoms-up financial plan.
  • Demonstrable Digital/Ecommerce experience and skills, with a passion for the new digital trends.
  • Moderate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Travel up to 15% of the time.
