Essential Job Functions
Creative Development- 75%:- Create original, innovative, and emotional art that is brand appropriate for multiple apparel categories
- Input original art and purchased prints into factory ready artwork with strong understanding of factory limitations and cost factors
- Drive CAD techniques through repeat sizes, layouts, print techniques, general mill capabilities and limitations
- Apply strong use of illustration, color and repeat layout
- Develop gender and age specific art that displays originality in prints with little direction from manager
- Create artwork with strong adoption rate internally and with external customer

- Manage time efficiently to meet deadlines and follow through on all projects
- Understand and follow all established procedures within Art Department
- Attend creative, hindsight and sample review meetings to provide suggestions for best execution and problem solving for best results
- Work closely with cross functional teams to produce artwork that is cost effective to produce
- Initiate process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce complexity
- Understand and support the Carters business objective to be the leader in young childrens apparel
Supervisory / Budgetary / External Communication Responsibility
- May have direct report(s) or some management experience
Secondary Functions
- Accuracy in executing artwork and art procedures
- Communicate all updates with management and follow through with team
- Knowledge of legal process as it relates to creative
- 4+ years industry experience
- Possess strong working knowledge of Illustrator & Photoshop
- Kaledo experience a plus
- Possess strong communication skills, display a high level of professionalism with team members, and positive attitude
- Strong knowledge of color and trends
- Strong color and layout skills
- Display organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong understanding of printing techniques for apparel
- Ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task and remain focused in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel may be required
