The North America Product, Merchandising and Demand & Supply Planning Analytics team recognizes the power of quantitative and qualitative data to deepen our understanding of our consumers and the marketplace to drive business decision-making. That’s no easy task, particularly in North America which as NIKE’s largest geography contains immense complexity.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We’re looking for an Insights Manager II to support the North America Product, Merchandising, and Demand & Supply Planning teams. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and relentlessly curious, especially about how data can be used to advise NIKE’s view on consumer demand and drive better decision-making. They will excel at generating and conveying compelling insights and analytics to business users, instinctively minimizing complexity to focus on results. They will establish a deep understanding of the business strategy and marketplace environment and the ability to find relationships between disparate data sets. They will have SQL experience and are well-versed in automation techniques, and at home in a cloud-based big data environment. They are comfortable working with ambiguity, have collaboration skills, and enjoy working multi-functionally on complicated business problems.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

The day-to-day work will include working with the Merchandising and Demand & Supply Planning teams along with business partners and using a multi-disciplinary range of methods and capabilities to deliver both recurring and moment-based analytics and insights. Your focus will include:

  • Partnering with key collaborators to understand their needs and proactively find opportunities to drive knowledge into action
  • Using data and analytics to provide insight into unique and sophisticated Nike challenges and opportunities in support of targeted business priorities and objectives
  • Building innovative and effective analytics and insights services, ranging from elevating existing solutions (for example recurring seasonal work) to identifying analytical opportunities to address anticipated and emerging business needs
  • Developing a deep knowledge of core data domains and driving value from the intersection of different functional views of the business
  • Creating strong partnerships with analytics partners to leverage capabilities & takeaways across teams

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

You will sit within the centralized North America Consumer Insights & Analytics function. As this is a cross-functional role you will partner with a wide range of teams and teammates, both inside and outside Analytics. Within Analytics, this includes collaborating with your teammates in Commercial Analytics, Nike Direct Analytics, and Reporting & Data Enablement among others to create and implement scalable insights. You’ll also form strong relationships with Global counterparts to help drive coordination between Geo and Global teams. Outside of Analytics, your team includes Merchandising and Demand & Supply Management leadership and team members.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Marketing or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training
  • 5+ years of demonstrable experience in analytics-driven business-facing roles
  • Advanced Excel skills, with proven ability to develop effective and intuitive visualizations in Tableau (or similar platform); incl. the ability to query structured data from additional platforms (e.g., Snowflake) and languages (e.g., SQL, Python)
  • Ability to identify and unlock compelling insights through the use of multiple data sources (structured and unstructured, internal and external), addressing key questions and opportunities across multiple functional and business areas.
  • Experience in the valuation and definition of new measures, and the translation of business goals into quantitative metrics
  • Demonstrable ability to lead multi-functional teams and effectively manage multiple sets of partners; good project management skills and ability to work independently as well as anticipate partner needs and proactively bring solutions
  • Good communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to express complex concepts and ideas in a simple manner (written & verbal) as well as adapt to a variety of audiences including senior leadership.
