In-house Production/Technical Fashion Designer – P/T
We are seeking a Production/Technical Designer with a strong design background to work closely with our in-house Creative Team. You will assist our Knitwear Fashion Designer & Creative Director in all production as well as design-related tasks in the studio. Experience in knitted construction is highly advantageous.
The ideal candidate is charismatic, sharp, articulate, highly organized, fashion- forward, eager to learn and able to multi-task swiftly.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
-Organize and manage current sample collections, fabric and trim library
-Communicate with production team overseas during all phases of design development
-Develop upcoming collections from inspiration & concept to final production sample
-Create & oversee artwork, inspiration boards, design boards
-Sketch or draw flats on the computer
-Knowledge of knitwear fabrics and techniques (a major plus!)
-Basic pattern-making, draping & sewing skills (a plus)
-Develop innovative designs to elevate the brand
-Knowledge of global market trends
Qualifications:
-Experience in Fashion design & product development (3 years min.)
-Strong design and conceptual skills (a major plus)
-Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
-Microsoft Excel & Word, above 50 wpm
-Excellent taste level & brand awareness, strong sense of color, fashion, product & trend
-Responsible and positive, problem-solver, forward thinker, hard worker, team worker
-Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, competing priorities and tight deadlines simultaneously while maintaining quality
-Proficient in English, both written & oral
-Mandarin a major plus!
