Multi-brand online retailer is hiring at Sr. Buyer on a permanent basis. This position is based in Los Angeles. The Sr Buyer may work from home when not in the field (at Los Angeles Vendor locations).
As a Sr. Buyer, you will create and develop business strategies and assortment plans to deliver sales and profits in line with strategies set by the brand's VP of Merchandising. You will identify category opportunities and recommend new products or concepts. You will champion the business byleading the product assortments, negotiating and developing strategic vendor partnerships, and independently driving all aspects of your fast-paced business. As our LA-based representative to our vendors,you will be actively in market, cultivating existing partnerships and developing new ones.

Build strong relationships with vendors, focusing on vendor management and development
Be actively in market weekly, finding new resources and reporting back on emerging trends
Analyze, present and recap sales trends and results to leadership and cross-functional partners
Develop and communicate annual and seasonal business merchandising strategies
Select seasonal and core product assortment to drive the business forward
Collaborate with Inventory Planning to develop annual and seasonal financial plans.
Identify and recommend new business opportunities to drive future growth.
Analyze competitive market and provide observations and analysis of findings.
Execute SWOT analysis as needed of market for competitive analysis
Propose and recommend promotional opportunities to drive sales and customer engagement.
Communicate key product items, seasonal “big bets” and strategies to develop and finalize marketing plan.
Communicate digital marketing plans for assigned department(s).
Influence email and social marketing based on sales demand and inventory levels in the department(s).
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of work and experience
7-10 years Buying/Merchandising experience:fast-fashion experience preferred-experience in ecommerce is a must
Strong product eye, on top of trends in the fashion space
Working knowledge of San Pedro and surrounding vendor footprint (strongly preferred)
Demonstrated understanding of merchandising financials and the ability to manage profitability
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to travel a minimum of 10%
MUST live in Los Angeles area
MUST have reliable transportation for vendor meetings in San Pedro, CA
