Senior Designer, Apparel

The Designer / Sr. Apparel Designer will be responsible for creating product designs that are both cost-effective and innovative.

Responsibilities

• Translate design direction and fabric/trim selections into original designs
• Create original flat sketches based on existing trends and mainstream designs
• Work with Design Team to create tech packs, ensuring designs accurately translate into development samples
• Collaborate with Trend Forecasting Team on seasonal trends and concepts
• Research trends and bring in new ideas through competitive shopping, magazines, websites, and runway shows
• Train and mentor Designers by offering constructive criticism and guidance
• Source and purchase fabrics, trims, fastenings, and embellishments

• Must have a Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Fashion Apparel Design
• Must have 3- 5+ years of Fashion Design experience in multiple design categories
• Must have strong leadership skills
• Must be proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design, Word, and Excel
• Must have strong design aesthetic, color sense, and conceptual skills
• Must be able to create flat sketches Adobe Illustrator
• Comprehensive knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, color/print usage, graphics, embellishment layouts, and trim required
• Must be flexible and adapt well to fast paced, rapidly changing work environment
• Must be a team player, open to taking direction, and able to work well under pressure
