Job Overview

The Senior Designer (Women’s) is responsible for partnering with the women's design and product teams to collaboratively drive design collection and executing on that design of seasonal women’s product across all women’s categories.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Design seasonal women’s product within product categories inclusive of fabric information / limitations and style details / limitations
  • Design SMUs for cross functional teams, as needed
  • Create seasonal mood boards and color stories for team / leadership meetings
  • Create and maintain packs, merch boards, mill sheets, art files, color palette files, trim files, tech pack templates, and server org
  • Pitch potential new skus / categories
  • Attend vendor meetings to support material selection
  • Build and maintaining category design guidelines for all responsible categories
  • Build seasonal features overview to be used for catalog direction and merchandising master rep catalogs
  • Proof seasonal catalogs and assist with product description details
  • Monitor and communicate calendar deadlines with design and development teams
  • Communicate concepts to cross functional team through the use of sketches, illustrations, and / or other media
  • Research, interpret, and apply market trends (competitors and non-competitors) appropriate to the brand

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications; focus on Illustrator
  • Highly developed sense of creativity for color, prints and pattern
  • Hand drawing, sketching and / or painting skills a plus (not mandatory)
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and calendars
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with other designers
  • Ability to work cross functionally and take direction well
  • Ability to follow accurate directions to accomplish design brief asks
  • Ability to travel
  • Strong organization and attention to detail skillset

Education And Experience

  • Technical trade school and/ or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in apparel design
