WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Senior Director to lead our Central Product Management team, specifically the Center of Practice (CoP) for Product Management at Nike. This diverse product role requires one to have a passion for the function of product management and a consistent record for delivering high-impact products while developing the next generation of product management leaders.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

The CoP for Product Management is responsible for maturing the Digital Product Management function within Nike. This group aims to improve the performance of all product teams by establishing the ways of working, training, bootcamps and ultimately driving product performance by flexing into existing product teams.

  • Aid in re-defining and prioritizing the capabilities that should be owned and developed centrally, on behalf of the product organization
  • Participate in the annual MBA internship program for product managers helping in hiring pipeline for senior product managers and the foundational tools and templates used by product management teams across Nike
  • Be influential the product portfolio strategy to meet Nike’s commercial goals, including audit mechanisms to measure performance by working across product and business leadership within the Nike Direct group
WHAT YOU BRING

The successful candidate must have multi-functional team leadership skills, a consistent track record of delivering results in sophisticated organizations and across a broad scope, while encouraging impactful teams. This high visibility role will test the ability to rally teams around a vision, influence and lead broad organizational change, and drive high impact product work at Nike.

  • Management: Lead, recruit, and develop multiple product pods, each composed of multidisciplinary teams, with direct management over multiple product managers at all levels. Enable teams to be successful by removing obstacles and developing strategic relationships throughout the business.
  • Product strategy and vision: Create and effectively champion a data-driven and market-informed product vision and strategy that works in concert with the greater Nike strategy. Identify the strategic product implications and opportunities resulting from major corporate strategies and change initiatives by collaborating with business and executive leadership.
  • Product lifecycle management: Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of complex products from conception through launch. Strategize and execute on growth initiatives in operating live products.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent combination of education and experience and training
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in product management; strong technical skills and direct development experience required with a deep understanding of enterprise-level platforms and technologies
  • Outstanding data analytics skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with shown success and experience delivering clear executive-level communications
  • Sound ability to mobilize diverse individuals with different goals and facilitate productive discussion & action
  • Ability to build product deliverables such as wireframes, prototypes and requirements specifications
  • History of making challenging tradeoffs in establishing product priorities that have required sophisticated analyses and complex negotiations
  • Possess a growth and servant leadership mentality
