Job description

The Senior role for DEI Supplier will support the development, organization, implementation, management and reporting of all aspects of the Macy's, Inc Supplier Diversity Initiative. This role will serve as a key resource regarding industry trends and best practices in Supplier Diversity as well as remain knowledgeable concerning the availability, capabilities, and development of underrepresented* suppliers. This position will have a critical role in community relations through interaction with the underrepresented supplier community, national advocacy and trade organizations, and internal cross functional colleagues that focus on development and economic empowerment of underrepresented companies. Essential Functions:

- This position is responsible for collecting, tracking and reporting metrics to ensure the program goals are met including:

- As a subject matter expert, provide consolidated reports of spend with underrepresented suppliers, external benchmarking covering emerging practices to include laws, regulations and best practices to Management on a periodic basis

- Creating dashboards and analyzing the diversity spend and other data across the enterprise

- Regular assimilation and production of Macy's, Inc Supplier Diversity Results and

- Reports

- Compilation of reports into presentations used internally and externally

- Share Supplier Diversity wins and losses with Internal and External Professionals and recommend gap closing strategies

- Report to internal stakeholders, key partners, and company compliance annual reporting as necessary as well as coordinating activities to achieve results

- Monitor and analyze trends, benchmark data and report both corporate and industry impacts in a timely manner

- Work with Category Managers to conduct annual Category Strategy Analysis

- Manage process of supplier diversity status identification and maintenance to ensure integrity of Initiative

- Drive the Multi- Tier program (Tier 1 & 2), oversee and ensure timely and accurate reporting

- Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with select diverse firms and internal stakeholders

- Work with the Retail and Non-Retail leads and/or functional stakeholders to pre-qualify suppliers, review performance, resolve issues and provide guidance to enhance supplier capabilities and growth opportunities

- Manage Supplier Diversity Initiative website including content maintenance and updates

- Lead and actively engage in the preparation of internal and external events/conferences promoting and recognizing supplier diversity efforts.

- Expand the boundaries of an already effective working relationship with Macy's, Inc partners and the affiliated support organizations (such as but not limited to Merchandising, Planning, Operations, Procurement, Finance, Digital, Marketing, Legal)

- Provide ongoing support to Supplier Diversity Leads as requested

- Responsible for leading cross functional work teams within Macy's, Inc with the goal to measure and understand progress toward the achievement of the corporate business objective for increased diversity across the enterprise. Should be self-directed with regular counsel and review with superiors.

- B.S./B.A. in applicable field

- Strong written and verbal skills in a multidisciplinary environment

- Strong organizational skills

- Experience in facilitating/leading work groups, process teams and focus groups

- Independence - Ability to complete tasks and initiatives with minimal amount of supervision

- Ability to develop an in-depth understanding of the Macy's, Inc Supplier Diversity program and establish strong relationships with Retail and Non-Retail professionals, internal colleagues, underrepresented supplier community and external advocacy organizations and partners.

- Ability to leverage experience to develop value added relationship with partners and functional leaders to increase the development and utilization of underrepresented suppliers

- Ability to conduct analysis, develop actionable recommendations and implementation plans

- Project management skills - Ability to prioritize activities and multi-task to drive maximum benefit

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Skill in understanding and developing process flows

- Excellent negotiating, consensus building and conflict resolution skills

- Extensive communication and teamwork skills with both internal and external customers

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment

- Ability to effectively represent the Supplier Diversity Initiative and the Company in various settings with internal and external leaders

- Willingness to "constructively dissent" and challenge senior management thinking on key purchasing issues

- Strong leadership and management skills; viewed as credible by various business unit leadership

- Ability to solve problems guided only by general organization objectives, policies, and goals

- Skill in using computer software applications such as MS Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook
