WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As our Sr Footwear Color Designer – Women's Classics/Vault, you'll deliver product vision and execution of seasonal projects aligned to the overarching Womens Lifestyle Creative Direction and project briefs!

As a key voice in Color Design for Classics you will partner with Color Design Leadership to set creative direction for a silo of product collection within a specific business dimension; drive the color launch strategy for complex and defining models; you also may be asked to lead and/or captain special projects!

You will be responsible for reviewing all samples to achieve marketable solution review with design, marketing and development as well as handoffs and clear cross-functional communication.

You'll use advanced design skills to build original, innovative color solutions for category or gender-specific line. In addition to advancing design image, and inspiring targeted consumers, you'll research and deliver color, design, market and cultural trends that influence and impact the product category process from product briefing, through product concept, to samples.

In this role, you will apply knowledge of activity, consumer & their culture to build compelling narratives and appealing product executions. You will build presentation materials that optimally communicate color direction and present to appropriate groups.

Lastly, you will advance the value of Color to Nike by bringing a high level of functional expertise (i.e. materials, special effects, technology, advanced development, presentation, and tools) to the color design organization.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

In partnership with the Category and Design Director, you'll create and lead color merchandising strategies and stories seasonally. You will also contribute to seasonal color strategy for products, line segments and initiatives as well as create seasonal category-specific direction of color, materials and graphics.

You will collaborate cross-functionally across Design, Product Marketing, Merchandising, Development and Material Consultants to build compelling color palette and application strategies that are consumer right and culturally relevant.

As a Sr Color Designer in Classics/Vault you will also be a people manager and will share your advanced knowledge and mastery of the Footwear Design process to train and mentor more junior designers.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelors degree in art, design, or any relevant field or a combination of relevant education, experience and training
  • Minimum 7 years Color Design or other relevant Design experience
  • Digital acumen in Design based software (e.g. Macintosh computers & Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Master of the product design creative process and development process
  • Strong understanding of the art & science of color design
  • Strong color sensibility & deep cultural awareness
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Understand Footwear make and manufacturing
  • Ability to work inclusively and cooperatively in a diverse group
  • Ability to network, influence and utilize internal and external resources
  • Master of business context and consumer insights
  • Speaks up with courage for self and the team
  • Open minded, good listener and curious
