L.L.Bean is currently looking for a Senior Manager Contracts and Procurement to join our team in Freeport, ME.

In the position you will lead vendor contract negotiations in support of business objectives across the IT and Marketing organizations, including full contract/lifecycle management and acquisitions to ensure receipt of the best product and/or service at the most favorable terms, through utilization of your expertise with legal terminology / contract law including the ability to draft contracts, negotiate standard form contracts and manage the overall contract process. Additionally, you will lead the development, execution and management of sourcing strategies and initiatives for indirect goods and services related to Technology and Marketing business areas.

Responsibilities

  • Lead vendor contract negotiations in support of business objectives across the IT and Marketing organizations, including full contract/lifecycle management and acquisitions to ensure receipt of the best product and/or service at the most favorable terms.

    • Maintain industry knowledge across a broad array of vendors and disciplines, with a focus on IT and Marketing related vendors and processes.
    • Responsible for contract amendments and re-negotiations related to changes in legal, operational, or organizational requirements, including facilitating conversations with internal and external legal counsel.
    • Coordinate with IT Security, Insurance, Legal and Finance regarding contractual terms and issues (payment terms, insurance, audit, ownership, exclusivity, etc.)

  • Provide support to IT and Marketing for measuring vendor compliance and service levels, supporting contract compliance reviews, facilitating conversations with legal counsel(s) related to contract issues and providing recommendations on remediation plans.

    • Facilitate the compliance/review process with internal audiences and the impacted vendor
    • Coordinate with business areas to solicit feedback on supplier performance, program delivery and areas of concern.
  • Provide data and information to IT and Marketing to expand, update or inform their vendor landscape decisions and positions.

    • Identify future purchasing opportunities to further procurement strategies.
    • Provide support for RF(x) & contract processes and transition and implementation of new goods and services.
    • Support the vendor management decision support process.
    • Direct business reviews with key suppliers to review and manage performance and seize future opportunities/manage risks.

  • Lead and develop a collaborative, high-performing team:

    • Establish performance objectives, assign/direct work, monitor progress and appraise performance
    • Recommend and administer wages and salaries of direct reports
    • Develop employees in job-related skills through work assignments, direct training and development plans, and regular feedback
    • Communicate company policies and procedures and resolve routine personnel problems in accordance with them

Profile

Skills and Qualifications:

  • BA/BS; MBA preferable

  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification preferable

  • Well versed in Procurement Strategies and Best Practices

  • 7 -10 years in procurement leadership and management roles

  • 3 -5 years of financial analysis experience, including budgeting

  • 3- 5 years of Project Management experience

  • Possess solid working knowledge of legal terminology / contract law with the ability to draft contracts, negotiate standard form contracts and manage the signature / approval process

  • Possess clear understanding of category management / strategic sourcing as a professional discipline

  • Proactive, result oriented, with a can-do attitude in meeting critical deadlines

  • Solid business, analytical, procurement and financial acumen

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills

  • Proven ability to develop strong relationships externally & internally

  • Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills; highly collaborative
